From Zermatt: After spending almost 8 days in cities like Zurich & Geneva I was happy to reach Zermatt. I really couldn’t have missed this view from any part of the town. I could feel the sun in my eyes and the cold on my skin. Geneva to Zermatt it was a 3.5 hrs journey with a change over at Visp. The trains were packed and I had two bags to carry! The town was buzzing with activity with tourists from all over the world. I remember feeling so relieved just getting out of Zermatt train station, a pat on my shoulder, a proud moment. But it was just my first stop! ???? This little town was filled with beautiful chalets of all different kinds. Beautiful architecture with an amazing view. with a heavy camera bag on my shoulder I dragged my suitcase through the uneven stone roads. The wheels made so much noise that people slowly started giving way. I was happy to reach the Alpine hotel. A cozy hotel right in the middle of the town. The evening sun kissed my single room. I was on the top most floor of the building, the fourth. The ceilings were quite low that I banged myself a couple of times in the head when I was trying to wash my face. Next day I woke up in the morning refreshed and energised. I decided to take the cable car up to Sunnegga and then to Matterhorn.
