Pregnancy can be overwhelming. It is a very endearing time of life but entails its own set of problems. There are ups and downs & change is important.
My doctor gave me a green flag when I asked he if I can take a short international trip during the second trimester, with a few caution words, a list of medicines needed in case of emergency & a consent letter to be presented at the airport.
After a lot of brainstorming, I decided that Sri-Lanka would be a perfect spot. How I concluded that? That's a discussion for some other day!

Itinerary
Day 1 - Landed and we had made transfer arrangements before-hand. We reached hotel in around an hour's time, ordered in dinner & called it a day.
Day 2 - We had our breakfast and left for our hotel in Bentota - The Taj Bentota hotel.
Day 3 & 4 - We spent all days chilling at the resort, at the beach, going to the gym, the spa , etc.
Day 5 - After a filling breakfast, we left for Colombo, all energised by the beach waves to explore the city a little.
We rested a little at our hotel room and left for our mush awaited lunch at the famous Ministry of Crab.
We then looked around a little, shopped for souvenirs, admired the building here and bought some ceylon tea.
Next day, we bid adieu to our amazing abode and left for the airport.
You can also visit the Gangaramaya temple and the galle face area in Colombo. We were restricted by rains (and laziness!). Getting around in Colombo is pretty simple with Uber.
You can also utilize your stay in Bentota by taking a day trip to the Galle fort but we were too comfortable in the resort to do so.
We definitely plan to visit this beautiful country again to explore everything it has to offer.
