A Short Trip To

Once the travel bug bites, there is no known antidote, and I know that I shall be happily infected until the end of my life.

A 3 day trip to Srilanka wasn't enough however i covered most the places in the northern part of the country.

It took me a 6 hour of journey from Delhi to Colombo and it costed me around 17k return flight. Luckily i have one friend from Srilanka so helped me in lot of ways to make this trip better & affordable.

I booked a car for 3 days at a very reasonable price (In case you want his contact no. kindly let me know in comment box)

Day 1

So i started my trip from Colombo to Sigriya.

Day 3

So finally we headed back to Colombo from Ella, I had some time in hand before boarding the flight hence i went to Floating Market & Neg0mbo Beach

Sigiriya

Sigiriya rock plateau made out of a volcano and later on converted into a fort. It is also called "the Eighth Wonder of the World"

I stayed here for a day at airbnb, Lathika Homes - (INR 600 for a night) Perfect location, amazing food, comfortable stay, beautiful, small and very reasonable.

Day 2

So early morning we headed to Ella Town from Sigriya, that is a beautiful paradise that offers stunning mountain range.

I must say Srilanka is very clean & beautiful, road journey to Ella is astonishing - see some pictures

Ella

Once we reached Ella Town, I stayed in an airbnb at 1k per night. A must visit place to eat is Chill Cafe. Great food at reasonable price & opens until 4am (amazing place to party - Few pictures below).

We started the day with Ravana Falls. You would see lot of foreigner enjoying in a natural swimming pool

Little Adam's Peak

Lastly we gone to Little Adam's Peak. It is a beautiful walk of 1 hr one side. A Must visit.

Negombo

Entry to this place cost $30 however for Indians it cost around INR 800. It is also called Lion Rock & it takes around 2-3 hours to completely climb / return and see this place completely . Amazing to climb up, you would see lot of interesting things.

This is an opposite rock to Sigriya, Lot of people also go there in the evening to view lion rock

We did a small trek for an hour to Ravana Cave (It cost you around INR 20 for permission to visit the cave)

Then we went to Nine Arches bridge - A must visit if you visit Srilanka anytime soon. It is also a trek of almost 1hr one side (no entry fees)

It is also called the Bridge in the Sky. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country

Overall Taxi Cost - 29000 LKR (11000 INR)

1 INR = 2.5 LKR

You do not need to convert money before hand, you would easily find money ex changers at the airport (locals). you can also bargain with them to get at a nice rate.

Visa is on arrival from now on.
