I went to Chandratal lake in August of 2018. we were camping at the Moonlake camps 3km away from the lake. The starting point of the hike is where till our car could go. After that it was a hike of 15-20 minutes. upon reaching the lake we were mesmerized by its turquoise blue waters. The canvas in our minds started to paint quite a colorful picture of the lake as we kept walking along its edges. We did a full circle of the lake and at each turn it was a change of scenery, may it be snow capped mountains or the green pasture where Sheeps and horses were grazing together. The trail along the edges reminded us that the lake itself is a full ecosystem and were greeted by different flora, dragonflies, butterflies and different birds original to Spiti. The silence and calm of the surrounding was a bliss for those who love it and it was broken with occasional chirping of the birds. We spent 4hours there before coming back to our camp.
