It's a very weird feeling to wake up one morning and realise it's all going to end. What was not even a dream is coming to an end in a pretty satisfactory note ! This is harder than I thought I somehow push myself out of the bed and went walking to the door to see the bike giving me a sad frown from the cold mornings in Ushuaia I get ready for the day pack my bags and decide to leave the bike with its new owners who are 2 travelers from Ireland who are riding the bike up to Alaska from here in the next 2 years.
It's a common practice here in South America to sell bikes to fellow travelers as paperwork for a colombian bike is super easy.
I park the bike in front of their hotel, wait for them to arrive and pick up the bike from me! I have a flight to catch in a few hours! They came down and we caught up. They were jet lagged but thankfully I had kept the bike ready for them with all the changes and services so with one quick ride they fell in love with her and just like that the paper work was done keys were handed over and the bike is not mine anymore.
I bid an emotional goodbye to the bike and went straight to the airport.
The new owners got a pair of spare tubes, lubricant, my Power1 engine Oil from Castrol, my tent, sleeping bag as I was going home. I dropped all this with them so they can put good use to their journey all the way up north to Alaska.
I am now taking a flight to Rio de Janeiro to meet a friend for christmas and New Years post which I will fly down to India to meet family and friends.
Sitting at the airport I can't help but wonder how different it would have been if I continued with the original plan of riding up all the way to Alaska but I think it all happens for the good.
There are a truck load of memories I am carrying back home with me and its amazing to know so much has happened in such a little time.
Life has been kind and beautiful.
I thank you all for coming this far and reading this story.
