Spectacular South Africa

Johannesburg was our first stop in South Africa. Stayed in one of the best hotels named The Residency Hotel which was centrally located and right opposite Mr. Nelson Mandela's residence. Went to the Apartheid Museum where Mr. Mandela started his movement regarding the oppression and discrimination against the black people. Visited the famous Lion Park where lion and many other types of animals are kept in a sanctuary. The park has a safari to offer which goes around the whole park helping you to sight different types of animals and yes, of course, lions. Our last stop in Johannesburg was cradle of Mankind Mountain which is UNESCO world heritage sight. This popular destination describes how the humans evolved from apes, having concrete proof. According to our host, Cradle of Mankind is the birthplace of human race.

The best safari experience I ever had. Kruger national Park is the main sanctuary in South Africa having various types of animals, bird species, flora and fauna and many more. Everyday in Kruger we had to safari for 2 times so that we could watch as many as species of animals possible during our stay. We saw the famously known ' Big five' which included the five most dangerous animals on foot i.e. lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhino. The best of the whole safari experience was to witness a herd of lions eating their buffalo prey and also loved the changing of colors in Kruger.

The best city in South Africa. Lovely landscape with an ocean at the front of our hotel and mountains at the back. Very lively city and tourist friendly. Visited the table bay mountain which stands strong in Capetown. The top of the mountain is always covered with clouds and whenever you can see the top, its considered to be your lucky day as per the locals. Saw the soccer stadium which hosted the FIFA World Cup final in the year 2010. Whenever you walked out near the bay, you could spot some sea lions at the dock preying on fish and other sea creatures. Visited the Cape of good hope, where the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean collide. You could clearly spot the collision as both the water bodies had different shades of blue. Thoroughly enjoyed their local food at our hotel which was really well located in the city. Lastly, went for whale watching via a small cruise-boat. Spotted many dolphins and a whale during the tour which amazed me how big was the whale.

The last stop in our tour. In Durban we usually chilled and enjoyed our last few days of vacation. As it was hot as compared to rest of the places we had been to, we explored some beaches and water activities like surfing, swimming, beach volleyball and so on.

For the fellow travelers willing to travel to South Africa should be careful as some places are not safe and involve high level of illegal stuff. However, the country is very pocket friendly considering the fact you book everything in advance. It will be beneficial if you avoid public transport and use the transport given by your hotels.
