It's hard to find a place to start when the memories and emotions come rushing back to you as nostalgia sets in once again...
To say the least, this was a trip that began as a Student Exchange program between the University of Connecticut (my home university) and the National University of Singapore. Of course, as is most study abroad experiences should be as a college student...I intended on travelling, experiencing night-life, and meeting new people. Little did I know that this city-state/country, which -- mind you -- is smaller than all of New York City, would create such an incredible impact on my life.
I have seen this place inside-and-out within six months and to be quite honest, there wasn't a single day that I became tired of my routine. I had a very well-rounded experience being a resident, a student, and a tourist that I now hope will help any type of traveler in the future.
Residential Life:
While I spent most of my stay in Singapore on the campus of NUS - UTown, I can say with confidence that like any other city...space is scarce. Most residence (~85%), unless you've got a plentiful amount of money, live in "Housing and Development Board (HDB) Flats".
