When boredom kills you all you want is to find a place where you can find yourself in your own way. We all try to find a place where you will start your morning by cherishing the beauty of nature. Nature has a beautiful essence of stress killing therapy and we all in some point of time desperately try to get that magic therapy.
So, one fine day I decided to go for a weekend trip to Triveni and Lamhata and guess what !! My mom was my travel buddy for the trip. I always had a fascination for bikes , couldn't resist it this time , so decided to have the experience of bike riding on hills..😍
On 19th Feb 2021 we took a train from Burdwan (BWN) to NJP and reached Siiliguri at around 8:30 am next morning.
I had pre-booked a bike- Classic 350 ( I will provide all the details at the end ). So the journey started from here. It's a 60km ride to Triveni. Triveni is the meeting point of two rivers Teesta and Rangit . Being a bike lover I was enjoying the ride so was my mother. On the way you will find some photogenic places where you can get great shots. We had our lunch on the way in a restaurant.( I will share a picture of the restaurant in my photo's). The food was delicious and we both loved it.
After almost 3 hrs we reached Triveni camping area. So here also we had booked a tent and all 1 week before with Triveni Adventure Group ( I will share these details also in the end ) . The view is just mesmerizing and we were looking forward for the unique experience of spending a night on the banks of river Teesta in a tent ⛺.
We were offered tea and trust me the tea was so refreshing, it just took away the tiredness. They prepared our tent and we headed towards our tent. After taking some rest we thought to try out river rafting. Water was not so much , so you cannot expect a thrilling river rafting , but this will be more of a soothing river rafting which you will enjoy. Me and my mom loved it.
After river rafting we were bit hungry so ordered some maggi , and the taste is mouth watering.
As the tone is set along with the dusk , you will find people with guitars and all singing and dancing and will make the place lively.
The group arranged bonfire for us in the evening and they will provide you a lantern which will be your source of light for the night . We had barbecue chicken in the evening and the place will be bit cold now , but you will love the vives. At around 10:30 we had dinner and that's it for the day . If you come with friends or some groups it will be more fun.
You will wake up by hearing the chirping of the birds and the crystalline sound of the flowing river. This was such a lovely way to start your morning.
After a while we had our breakfast and we decided to go to Lamhata which is 14 Km from Triveni . The road is a uphill drive, you will love the view all around . After 45 mins we reached Lamhata Eco park. It's a beautiful park located just beside the road. We went inside and you will find a beautiful scenario of pine trees. There is a sacred pond located at the top for which you have to climb up 750 meters. Steps are there to ease your walking. We went up and there was a sacred artificial pond with the holy flags. Took some rest there , enjoyed the beauty of it and then came down. We had momos just opposite of the park , very delicious I would say.
After all these we started for Siliguri. On reaching Siliguri we had late lunch in a restaurant called Sagar , it's Siliguri 's top veg restaurant. We boarded our return train in the evening.
Overall it's a huge break from the corporate life that one can get over a weekend, highly recommended. Bike ride with mom will always be a memorable one.

River Rafting cost - 2000 INR for 2 people. (Triveni Adventure Group will arrange it , family run business)
Bike rent - 1100 INR per day ( excluding fuel) . Security deposit -5000 INR refundable if returned without any damage. Contact - Roger (+91 7908171324).
Bathroom facilities - Washroom is available with managable facilities for 1 day camping.
One Request - please donot make the camping area dirty and avoid plastics. It will be good if the government provides dustbins in the site itself.
