The coming together of great heights with sublime views, a hint of danger and the sky as a ceiling, is an experience which can’t be defined. If you wish for such an aerial adventure, you don't have to travel all the way to the Grand Canyon Skywalk (or anywhere else) anymore. The Chief Minister of Sikkim, Pawan Chamling, recently laid the foundation stone for a ropeway to construct a skywalk in Sikkim. This skywalk in Sikkim will be a part of the Bhaleydhunga Skywalk Project at Dhapper in Yangang, which once completed, will be the world's highest skywalk.
What is the skywalk in Sikkim project?
Chamling can be rightly called the promoter of avant-garde with his Bhaleydhunga Skywalk Project. This skywalk in Sikkim will be constructed at a height of 10,300 feet. The skywalk in Sikkim will be constructed with futuristic infrastructure and will be the second of its kind in Asia and the first in India.
"Ropeway and the proposed skywalk at Bhaleydhunga is very close to my heart as it is being built in my native village. The skywalk in Sikkim will also help in the economic and livelihood development of the region, creating new business opportunities and services, mostly in the tourism and hospitality sectors," Chamling said.
Hailed as one of the world's last utopias by legendary Buddhist guru Padmasambhava, Sikkim is unarguably amongst the loveliest destinations in India, and this skywalk in Sikkim will be a feather in the state's cap.
