Sikkim is renowned for its artistic monasteries located around lush green forests with one of the most scenic picturesque mountains with hairpin road that makes the travel more captivating to visit throughout the year. It has been known to be India's carbon neutral state in India. I have been planning to visit Sikkim from Assam an indian state in northeast India where my journey begins for two days trip to Sikkim to visit two monasteries that is a must visit monasteries of all time. However, there are two hundred monasteries that is situated in the Indian state of Sikkim which we will be covering in all our trips to Sikkim. As we planned to visit Sikkim from Assam, it took us around two hours fifty four minutes to reach from assam to kolkata, then take other flight from kolkata to Sikkim where the nearest airport is Pakyong airport in Sikkim. we can even take train ride from Assam to Sikkim which usually takes around 15 hrs and 12 mins where the fare for the train ride is around INR 539- INR 1590.

Now once you reach Sikkim all you need is take rest for Day 1 so that we can begin our ten day journey to the monasteries in Sikkim. You can stay in a budget friendly hotels and villa that's situated in the smallest state of India after Goa. Lingdum monastery: Through Lingdum or ranka monastery which we usually call is one of the most beautiful monastery in today's time which offers a scenic picturesque himalayan view and beautiful architecture that is one of the oldest monastery in the Indian States. It's situated on the foothills of rumtek the Lingdum monastery which was founded by Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche, the 12th incarnation of Zurmang Gharwang of Kagyu Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It's construction began around in the year 1992 which was inaugurated in 1999. You can find carved prayer wheel once you enter the monastery where you can find courtyard in the monastery with a beautiful architecture of the temple where you can worship Lord buddha in the monastery. The monastery has a lot of rare buddhist manuscript that one can find within the monastery. Lingdum monastery is around 16 kilometres away from the main city in gangtok that's situated in the small village in Ranka. One can visit banjhakri Falls that is on the same route to lingdum monastery. You can visit lingdum monastery between march to may and september to october.

Pemayangtse Monastery: Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the most visited monastery in today's time for the one who seeks inner peace and visual treat. It is one of the ancient monastery which was constructed in this part of the Indian states. It was constructed and planned by Lama Lhatsun Campo in 1705. The bhutia only occupy this monastery from the Sikkim background. It is situated in pelling which has a lot of picturesque himalayan mountain. One can visit pemayangtse monastery between march to june. It is around 110 kilometres from the west of Sikkim.

. It is located in western part of Sikkim near the town of pelling. The name "pemayangtse" means perfect sublime lotus in bhutia language. It was founded in 1705 by Lhatsun Chempo, a well known lama of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

. The monastery belongs to Nyingma tradition, which is the oldest school of tibetan buddhism. It is well known for its exquisite architecture featuring intricate woodwork, impressive sculptures, showcasing the craftsmanship of the sikkimese artisans. The monastery has several sacred relics and artifacts including Buddhist scriptures, religious paintings, and statues of Buddhist deities.

. The monastery is structured in three storied where each represents different aspects of buddhist cosmology. It served as the royal chapel during the reign of the Chogyals (Kings) of Sikkim. The highlight of the festival is sacred dance portraying the celestial palace of Guru Rinpoche called "Sangtok-Palri." The monastery is situated around 6,838 feet above the sea level where it offers a panoramic view of the snow capped mountain kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world.
