Day 1: Pune to Gangtok
After bidding farewell to Pune, I embarked on an exciting journey to the captivating land of Sikkim. The flight from Pune took me to the picturesque city of Gangtok. Upon landing in bagdogra airport, I was immediately greeted by the refreshing mountain air and the promise of adventure. Checking into my hotel, I couldn't wait to begin my exploration of this enchanting destination.
Day 2: Immersed in the Charms of Gangtok
Waking up to the serene beauty of Gangtok, I set out to discover the city's captivating attractions. My first stop was the Rumtek Monastery, a true architectural marvel and a spiritual haven. The intricate details and the peaceful ambiance left me in awe. Afterward, I strolled along the lively MG Marg, indulging in some retail therapy and sampling delicious local snacks such as thentuk, thupka, Sela roti with dum aloo.
Day 3: Nathula Pass, Changu Lake, and Baba Mandir
Embracing the spirit of adventure, I embarked on a thrilling excursion to Nathula Pass, located at a breathtaking altitude of 14,140 feet. The journey was an exhilarating experience as I marveled at the stunning landscapes and the winding mountain roads. Standing at the Indo-China border, I felt a sense of awe and appreciation for the history that unfolded here. Later, I visited the serene Changu Lake, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Also The journey concluded with a visit to Baba Mandir, where I paid my respects to the brave soldiers.Even you can see Lord Shiv temple there with waterfall nearby if you go in winter season you can see frozen waterfall.
Day 4: Lachen and Its Tranquil Charms
Leaving Gangtok behind, I traveled to the picturesque village of Lachen, nestled amidst nature's beauty in North Sikkim. The scenic drive took me through verdant valleys and charming hamlets, offering glimpses of local life. Upon arrival, I embraced the tranquility of Lachen and spent the day exploring the village, interacting with the warm-hearted locals, and savoring the flavors of authentic Sikkimese cuisine.The must visit place there is Kala patthar, it's a scenic snow mountain where you can see lots of snow, from there I went to Gurudongmar lake, One of the most beautiful, pristine lakes in Sikkim, Gurudongmar lake sits in close proximity to the Tibetan and Chinese border in the north. Nested amidst the mountains at 5,183 meters, the freezing alpine lake is amongst the major sources of the river Teesta. The lake takes its name after the eminent guru Padmasambhava, who is believed to have traversed this region during his visit to Tibet.
Day 5: Lachung's Pristine Beauty
Continuing my Sikkim odyssey, I journeyed to the scenic village of Lachung. En route, I stopped at the awe-inspiring Singhik Viewpoint, where the majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga and other peaks unveiled their grandeur. Arriving in Lachung, I ventured into the mesmerizing Yumthang Valley, a floral paradise surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The colors and fragrances of the alpine flowers captivated my senses. In addition, I made my way to Zero Point, where the untouched beauty of the snow-covered landscapes left me speechless.
Day 6: Local Delights and Cultural Immersion
As my time in Sikkim drew to a close, I made sure to immerse myself in the local culture and cuisine. I indulged in a feast of mouthwatering momos, aromatic thukpa, and unique delicacies like gundruk and sel roti. I also visited the Enchey Monastery, Do Drul Chorten, Hanuman Tok, and Tashi Viewpoint, soaking in the spiritual vibes and capturing breathtaking vistas of Gangtok.
As I bid farewell to Sikkim, I carried with me cherished memories of its majestic landscapes, warm hospitality, and rich cultural heritage. This journey from Pune to Sikkim will forever hold a special place in my heart, reminding me of the beauty that lies beyond our familiar horizons.
