Shimla is always in every Indian go-to list and so in mine. I always wanted to go Shimla especially during snow time, I planned for almost 50 time in last 3 years but no plan could be successful launched (lol), maybe because God wanted my Shimla trip to me more special than I was thinking of. After Holi,2022 it was a surprise weekend trip to Shimla (planned by my colleagues) and I must tell it was the most beautiful, scenic, mesmerizing place I have seen and stayed in.
It was a car trip. We started from dehradun early morning and reached Shimla by afternoon 3pm. Our stay was at Khanabadosh near Mashobara, Mashobara is 10km from Shimla and it takes around 30 min to reach there(from Shimla). I have travelled to quite a number of hill stations in India and stayed in various hotel/homestay/tent but I have to tell one thing thas khanabadosh is the best among all. It started raining and weather became so pleasant on arriving there. There was such a warm welcome by Mrs. Geetika (who is running this homestay). We were all served with welcome drink and very very beautiful gift hampers in our rooms. Place was so beautifully crafted with handmade showpieces . One of the best thing about this place was collection of handicrafts and handloom from various parts of India and abroad. Because it was a weekend trip (just after Holi ) with a motive of relaxing we didn't go out anywhere that day rather we stayed in our cocoon only. Khanabadosh felt like second home. Mrs Geetika herself along with her staff cooked our meals and meals were all customised. Amazing food.
In night we had some drinks and bonfire and warm soft music again with amazing Chinese dinner.
On second day few of us went from small trekking few were in their cocoon. Without choosing any destination we went onto exploring near about place with a motive of morning walk and we were in a some small jungle with music of birds chirping. It was a 1.5 hour touch and back trek.
Upon returning we were served with aloo parathas and fruits and quite a number of handmade jams and pickles. What else do an Indian need in breakfast other than aloo parathas and achaar😅😅.
So after breakfast it was very tough bye to khanabadosh.
Later that day we left for Mall road Shimla (although many shops were closed that day because of Sunday, so could not do much shopping)
We had our lunch in hotel combermere, on Mall road itself and later left for movie (The Kashmir Files🔥)
After movie our small weekend Shimla trip was over and we were back to our work.🥰
