Me & mom started from Bengaluru and my Sister started from Jaipur. We had our flight via Delhi. We reached Dubai at 7pm (Dubai time) and by the immigration was over it was 9:10pm. We took the metro & went to Discovery Garden stop where we had already booked our Airbnb for our stay. The stay was just 100 meters from the Metro station & the best part of our trip. For all our International trips this is the most important point we take care of while booking a stay.
We reached our stay at 10:30 pm & rested for the night.
Being vegetarian getting veg food easily can be a big issue for us in foreign country. So, we always carry some ready to eat or snacks for us for breakfast. This time we were carrying MTR food packets and Khakra. Our Airbnb had a fully functional kitchen.
Drinking water can be a big issue in Dubai so we pre ordered the same from Noon.com.
After completing our Breakfast we took the metro & went to old Dubai.
Please note, do take Metro cards instead of tickets for every trip. Taking a metro card is much cheaper.
We had our Lunch at Sharda Restaurant, roam around the whole area. Took the ferry for 1 Dhiram and travelled. Visited Gold Souk as well.
Note: for purchasing gold for investment purpose do visit Anwar. Their making charges are much cheaper than others.
After breakfast we went to the Aya universe. It's a must visit. We went to the Dubai frame from there & after that in the evening we went to Marina.
Lunch we had at the same Mall food court where Aya Universe is located. We enjoyed dinner at Bombay Bungalow at Marina. The view from there is worth visiting.
After breakfast we headed towards Dubai Mall and did Burj Khalifa 124 & 125 floor visits for the afternoon.
Many people will say it's not worth it, but trust me my Mom enjoyed it a lot and after all the whole trip was about celebrating her.
The whole day went like Breeze in Dubai Mall & Burj Khalifa.
We had lunch at Subway, Pizza hut & Nando's.
For dinner that day we ordered through Noon.com.
After breakfast we went to Ibn Batuta Mall, enjoyed some time there and after Lunch we came to our Airbnb & check out.
After checking out we went to the Museum of Future and enjoyed our time there. After visiting the Museum of Future we took Metro & went straight to the last metro station. There, outside the Metro station there are many people standing who offer Taxi rides till Sharjah at very cheap rates. We can also bargain with them. One can also take a bus, but I preferred the cab.
P.S. Visa: I self applied Visa for my Mother & my sister had Visa on Arrival because of having US Visa with her. I already had Dubai Multi entry Visa at that point.
Flights: I used MakeMyTrip for booking flights.
Stay: I booked through Airbnb. We had a fully functional Kitchen which had all utensils, gas, oven, etc. even Washing machine.
My mom being true Indian need a kadak chai in morning. So we choose Airbnb so that she can have her tea the way she wants.
Sim: We didn't purchase any Local sim.
Metro Card: I already had 2 metro cards with me, so I purchased 1 new metro card and recharged all 3 cards.
Activities: I booked activities in combo through Klook & Thrilophia. I didn't opted for Desert Safari because we recently had our Jaisalmer trip & I enjoyed Desert Safari more there. You can add it for 2-2.5 k per person.
Currency exchange: I carried an IDFC wow card with me hence didn't exchange even a single Dhiram.
Insurance: I am a frequent traveler so I have year round international travel insurance with me. For my sister and Mom I purchased it from Tata AIG.
I choose to travel through Metro because even after being 60, touch wood my mom is fit because of her daily yoga rituals. Traveling through a cab in Dubai will create a hole in your pockets.
