We went Seychelles in March 2023 for 09 Days, the weather of Seychelles is pretty much hot round the year as it is on equator. So, get ready to sweat and Tan a lot during your trip.
There are three main places to see in Seychelles :
1. Mahe : lots of beaches and Capita city Victoria.
2. Praslin: Valle de mai and beautiful beaches
3. La digue: Anse source d argent (world’s most photograph beach)
We broke down our Itinerary according to our liking. You can also make your own as per you interest.
Firstly on the day 1 we landed in Mahe , we took cab to Mahe jetty and took the “Cat coco” ferry to Praslin. Keep in mind that prior booking is needed for the ferry ride as there are not frequent boats available and if you are prone to motion sickness then book the upper deck (for fresh air) instead of the lower closed AC cabin.
We reach Praslin in almost 2 hours and the ferry ride was very bumpy. On reaching Praslin we booked a cab to our Hotel which was in Grand Anse . It took about 20 minutes to reach Hotel from jetty. The Hotel was very near to Grand Anse beach and Sai Grocery store is around 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel. It also has a Take away named Joseph from where you can get dinner meal. In Praslin Everything closes around 07:30 PM, so plan your day according to that.
Praslin Itinerary for 3 days:
• First Day: Check in to hotel: rest and explore the nearby area.
• Second Day: Vallee De Mai (UNESCO world heritage site) famous for Coco de Mer, Anse georgette and sun set at Grand Anse beach.
• Third Day: Anse Lazio beach, Anse government Beach and Cote Dor Beach.
Tips:
• Rent a car as buses as not frequent. Only Automatic cars are available.
• Roads are steep, so be careful while driving.
• Take a coverup, as the sun is too harsh.
• Pack lots of sunscreen, cap and sun glasses.
• Water is not free in hotels. Buy a whole water can before reaching hotel.
• Food is expensive, so pack some snacks for the day trip.
• Drones are not allowed in Anse Lazio. Take prior permission for shooting.
• No public toilet in Anse Lazio. Eat in hotel and you can use their toilet.
• Heavy luggage is not allowed in public buses.
After spending three days in Praslin, we took a fifteen min ferry from Praslin jetty to la digue Island. There are golf carts available in around 100 SCR which takes you to your Hotel. As La digue is very small island, so cabs and car rental are not available and you have to rent a bicycle to explore the whole island.
La Digue Itinerary:
• First Day: Checking to hotel, rent a bicycle and explore Grand Anse beach and Anse source D argent
• Second Day: Again went to Anse Source D argent early morning for photography. Anse Severe for sunset.
Tips:
• Anse source d argent is Paid beach, they give a wrist band which is valid for 24 hours.
• Anse Source d argent gets crowded during the day, so try to go early morning for perfect pics.
• Bicycle ride can be tiring. so plan your day with breaks in between for rest.
• Carry lots of water with you.
• High risk of sun burn. Be cautious.
After a two day trip to La digue, lastly we reach Mahe by ferry . We booked Hotel in Beau vallon region which is near to beau vallon beach.
Mahe Itinerary:
• Day one: Check in to hotel, Explore Victoria market, Temple and Beau Vallon beach sunset. Dinner from “Copper Pot “take away. It’s an Indian restaurant.
• Day Two: Anse Major trail- Hard trails for beginners. We had to take a boat taxi for return as we were too tired.
• Day Three: Leisure , Explore mahe or other beaches.
Tips:
• Check the location of hotel before booking as internet can be misleading , there are lots of hotels which are on hill top, which is difficult to reach by elderly or physical unfit people.
• Take buses, as the servise in Mahe is good and it is lot cheaper then car rental.
