Reached sawai madhopur on a Friday evening and checked into "clarks resort Abhyaran". It is beautiful resort right in middle of of fields and little away from main national park so you can get away from hustle bustle. It has huge rooms with outdoor shower and amazing star gazing at night.
We enjoyed and relaxed in resort for our first day.
Today we woke up at 5am for our morning safari. The morning safari starts at 6.30am. we booked a canter for zone 3. Lot of people book jeep but honestly it's too expensive and in case you don't spot a tiger, it's not worth it. Also canter offer equal experience. It is 2x2 with max seating of 16 hence no view gets blocked and niether is it expensive.
Also I highly recommend zone 3 as it has max possibility of spotting tiger coz it's only zone with lake and water body. Also many VIPs are taken to zone 3 for tiger spotting.
Though we could not spot a tiger, but going to raw jungle and watching other wild animals and also peacock flying was experience in it self.
Other things to consider in Ranthambore:
1. For shopping visit Dhonk and daskatar for Rajasthani handicrafts and clothes
2. Try guavas. Sawai madhopur has home grown guavas known for their huge size
3. Try Dal pakodi
4. Just have fun and enjoy your journey in jungle
