Satara known as the city covered by seven hills, so Satara. One of which is the Sajjangad fort.
During the last rainy season one of my friend visited my house from Chennai. He wanted to get lost in nature. In the beautiful senic district of Satara we started to explores different places like Kaas, Thoseghar, Jarandeshwar, Kalyangad, Jogmath and one of which was Sajjangad.
Sajjangad is about 18km from the main city.
To visit this place you need to go with bus or have to hire a vehicle. Most of the people prefer their own private vehicle.
As you move to Sajjangad you can plan to go to Thoseghar Waterfalls or the Urmodi day. Wherever you go Satara is always paradise to watch for.
We started our journey late afternoon so we could only get to go to Sajjangad. It is the place where Swami Ramdas took his last breath in 18th Century. The fort ha a history of Chtrapati Shivaj Maharaj. The fort is one of the important forts in the history. Even today there are Ved teaching School run here. You get delicious free food here ever day at 12 Pm. Be on time orelse you will miss the mouth watering food
Here is the Swami Ramdas Museum and Samadhi. Also you have a temple to pray the Goddess. You have Lord Hanuman temple. Also the view in the backside is mesmerizing, you have Urmodi lake on one side otheryou several beauty. You can miss the paradise here.
The lake on the fort and beautiful nature. The clouds and rain touching your face its just that you feel you are alive you get a reason to breath.
Its just you need to visit with your loved ones atleat once.
Rainy seasons June to Nov are best to vist Satara any place. Do visit and share your happy times.
