Internship Experience in Brazil

A little about my trip and Experience in Brazil.

Where do i start? Its been such an out of world experience for me. Brazil, a country of the worlds most beautiful horizon and vast wide open coast surrounding with a breathtaking nature all over. I never in my life thought i would be doing my first internship in a country like Brazil, meeting such beautiful people, culture and language! Being a country so far and so different that what i am used to, it truly was an experience of my lifetime. I did get some time to take off and visit two cities, Belo Horizonte in the State of Minas Gerais, and Guaruja in the state of Sao Paulo. Minas Gerais was the capital of all good smacking tasty food and mountains ,also with a vast variety of cheeses, almost around 80 different types. And Guaruja was a town located on the Coast of Sao Paulo, with incredible coasts and beautiful rocky beaches, Guaruja was the home of Sea turtles and a turf for Surfers and Pipers. I got a chance to swim here and actually see a lot of sea turtles! What a beautiful site!

I find myself extremely fortunate to have embarked on this journey alone which ended up being a lifetime experience for me.

People and the Culture here is so vibrant and colourful, really different than India. I made some friends which are sure to be for lifetime! People here in brazil are amazingly friendly, and love to meet people outside of brazil, they are extremely polite and helpful. They take real good care of you, and don't let go of you easily if you’ve managed to win their hearts! Food is great as well, Brazilians are excited about barbecue almost everyday, and they make sure they have barbecue on their menu at least twice a week! Rice, beans, green salad and a portion of meat is their staple food. Its a little hard for the vegetarians to survive here! But nothing to worry, they have the most tastiest cheese you’ve ever had, with some french bread to complete the dish.

Enough with the local guide information.

Shifting to my Internship experience!

I was lucky to work with this Architectural/Design studio called as ‘Ere Labs’ situated in the beautiful city of Sao Paulo, the second capital of Brazil, and the biggest city in Latin America. Working here was extremely educating and challenging at the same time. fortunately the people here spoke english quite well, I was interning with Ere Labs for 2 months

Working here has been a wonderful educational experience! I worked with 2/3 colleagues during my internship. A different work completely every time!. I worked with a beautiful architect Lorena, She was designing a play park for the less privileged children living in a small town of Amazons called ‘Itapoa do Oeste’, very hard to reach! I was lucky enough to assist her on this whole project and fill in my designs and inputs along with her guidance and suggestions! It was a great pleasure to have gotten a chance to work with an environment like Amazon Rainforest and the native tribals living there. As i write this article/experience down, its being constructed in Amazon and i am expecting the pictures by end of September 2018. I worked on the softwares such as Sketch up, Fusion 360 and Autocad. I also worked with Emy (Japanese Brazilian) a brilliant and one of the most friendly one in the office! I worked with her on the existing Playground equipment’s, Making the technical drawings and views for almost 40 equipments and putting them together. Connecting to this work, I also worked with Vitor, the mastermind and one of the oldest designer(experience wise) working there. With Vitor i got a chance to edit and redesign slides for their site. They were updating their site and had a few run ups to finish. I worked with Photoshop for making the site layouts and editing the pictures that were supposed to be used for this site. I worked with different fields and people. The people i mainly worked with and were like my team were - Emy, Lorena, Angela, Polliyana (Architects of the firm) Vitor, Davi (Designers of this firm) Thais (Civil engineer ) Apart from this team, My bosses - Roni hirsh and Helio. The most wonderful and cheerful bosses, who always kept the environment so positive and fun! Roni had visited India before and hence knew some phrases in Hindi, he would like to practice them with me whenever he got a chance to. It was a great learning experience all together and i surely will be going back to Brazil.
