Roing is the district headquarter of Lower Dibang Valleydistrict in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It is the last major township at the north-eastern frontier of India.
Both adi and mishimi are the principal indigenous dwellers of Roing.which remains covered with snow during peak winter. The town is located at the foothill of the top of the mishimi hills. Solung festival of Adi Community is observed in 1 September, while Reh festival of Idu in 1 February every year with great joy and harmony. Towards the north flows the river Deopani that frequently floods in summer causing great economic blockade to the adjoining Upper Dibang Valley District. Bridges over it have been repeatedly washed away draining Government's exchequer.
Transport
Roing is connected to Tinisukia District, a major town of Assam, Nearest airport is about 140Km away from Roing, separated by the mighty Brahmaputra which is the major route. During summer the river floods which takes a three-hour journey via ferry-boat which is quite an experience to have. The recently inaugurated Dhola-Sadiya bridge over the Lohit river has made the route to Roing much easier.

Mehao Lake…a natural lake amidst virgin forest
Part of the Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, situated at an altitude of nearly 3000 feet and at 14 kms from Roing is the natural stretch of water which is considered to be one of the most beautiful spots in Arunachal Pradesh.
