It is located 12 km outside of the city of Siaulia and is easily accessible by train and bus from Vilnius and by bus from Riga and Kaunas. From Siaulia, it is a short taxi or bus ride to the Hill of Crosses or the journey can be made by bike or walking when the weather permits.
Day 1: In my another trip- trip to Latvia. I and a colleague of mine were travelling from Vilnius to Riga. So we were supposed to see Hill of Crosses on our way to Riga. So we halted for 1 hour to see the place. We parked our car on the road since all parkings were full. As we stepped out of car it started pouring and fortunately we had umbrellas with us because we know how Europe could be. So with our umbrellas we walked until small shops where i purchased a small cross with 1.5 Eur to put it on the hill. Then we walked towards the hill and could how beautiful that place was. The surroundings were so calm and lush. After reaching there, i saw crosses which no one could count which shows the people's belief in God and they come here to put a cross in the name of Jesus and ask harmony for themselves and their families. Well i was there to see the hill but i also decided to put my cross which i had bought and i found a small empty place after some struggle. I set the cross their and clicked some pictures. And then i climbed down the hill and strolled around it to see more. After spending about 30 minutes their we decided to get back to the car since it had started raining nails and hammers. And we walked to the car and waited for some time until the little traffic got cleared and we resumed our journey to Riga.
