Best time to visit Tathagata Tsal:
The ideal time to set foot into this lovely park is from April to June but for the snow lovers, September to November will be perfect. That's the time when you can get an awesome view of the snow-covered Himalayan mountains as well as the colourful flowers doting the park.
How to reach?
The park, which is situated 1 km to the north of Ravangla town, is 126km away from Bagdogra airport, 122km away from NJP Station, 118km away from Siliguri and 85km from Gangtok.
The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in South Sikkim district, India. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-ft (40 m) high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece.
The site was chosen within the larger religious complex of the Rabong Gompa (Monastery), which is a popular pilgrimage center. Also, the Ralang Monastery located nearby is another key monastery visited by thousands of travelers.
The statue was consecrated on 25 March 2013 by the 14th Dalai Lama, and became a stop on the 'Himalayan Buddhist Circuit'. The statue marked the occasion of the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha.
The Buddhist Circuit of this park was built here under a State government project, for boosting pilgrimage and tourism in the region. The Cho Djo Lake is located within the complex, surrounded by forest. It is an alluring park for visitors to soak in the serenity, meditate and also go for soothing strolls.
