Rajasthan is a city of ethnicity where tradition is the most important part. Rajasthan is known as the City of Rajputs as many kings who ruled the state were Rajputs or true desert blood. I have been to Rajasthan as a child, but had never visited Jaipur. This was the first time and it turned out to be a memorable one as well. I went for the trip with two of my friends, we board a bus from Dhaula Kuan at 7 a.m in the morning. We reached Jaipur I.S.B.T around 2:00 p.m. We checked into a near by hotel and rested for a while. Choki Dhani is a must visit, if you are in Rajasthan but due to the time and distance problems we cancelled the plan and instead explored the local market. It was a beautiful place where mostly the shops would give you the feel of the old monuments making them look extremely mesmerising. One could also not miss any brand or eating joints here. From Dominos To KFC everything was available.
The same evening we booked a taxi for the tour, which we were suppose to go on for the next day. After a lot of argument about the price, it was decided Rs 1800 till 4:00 p.m. Satisfied we went to sleep. Next day the taxi came sharp at 9:00 a.m as decided and hence started our beautiful mystical journey. The roads gave us a royal feel and surprisingly were neat. We first went to the Birla Temple which was huge and beautiful. The next destination was Sanjay Sharma museum which apparently has more than thousands of Vedas written by Rishis before the Mughals. The museum was an awe struck insight of the knowledge that history has and how its existence is a big thing for us. After that we saw the Jal Mahal it was mesmerising and the only disappointing part was the junk of garbage near the river making such a beautiful place look bad. People need to realize the hazard they are putting the environment in. But still one could admire the beautiful palace built in the middle of a river which apparently was used by the kings in a hot summer day to cool them off.
On the way to the next fort we saw the "REAL PINK CITY" which is the market, houses and museums all coloured in pink, hence giving it the name. There amidst all the market stands the Hawa Mahal, a real beauty. History says that the palace was made for the Queens to come for some fresh air, and the second story says that when a king was to be welcomed the women as not allowed to go in front of the men used to stand at this place and welcome the victorious king. Hawa Mahal is India's one of the most prestigious monument that gives every Indian a pride to cherish. Our second destination was City Palace which is huge and beautiful. When you walk through the (once owned by great kings) palaces you feel a sense of rush in your blood, because these were the places where some India's legends have happened. And when the guide tells you all the interesting stories you feel like a part of them. You tend to touch each stone, each flower and think of the moments of history.
The palce is located high on a hill, and is the most famous monument in Jaipur. The town of Amer was originally built by Meenas, and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh. Amer Fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements. The fort also overlooks Maota Lake.
