Why so boring Uttarayan at your Terrace every year? This year, we planned of celebrating the kites in the hills, and it was a blast!
We left from Ahmedabad at 6:30 in the evening, and reached Udaipur at 12 by road. We stopped for dinner at Sankalp Restaurant at the Highway. We stayed at Hotel Royal Dezire for the night.
After having a nice Lake View Breakfast at Udaipur, we left for Kumbalgarh. It was about 60 kms from Udaipur but it usually takes 2 hours because of the narrow roads. We reached Kumbalgarh by 12:30 and directly checked into our hotel, Ramada Resort, Kumbalgarh. We had lunch at a restaurant nearby. The 5-star property of the resort was truly amazing. We had booked pool villas for us which got us a private pool with our cottage. After lunch, we were into the pool among the mountains. What a blissful experience it was!
After the pool, we got ready for the evening. We had some snacks at the resort restaurant itself, and then played Air Hockey, Carrom and Cards. After that, we enjoyed a nice DJ party at the resort and some lovely experience with the bonfire, followed by a luxurious dinner and spa.
There was another round of cards after we headed back to our rooms!
Today was the leaving day. But we enjoyed it to the fullest. We woke up at 6, enjoyed an hour of bath tub, and then an amazing morning walk among the hills. We had a king sized buffet breakfast fixed for us. Then it was Kite flying time. We enjoyed the kites in the resort itself with loads of Uttarayan food and pastries. After that, we headed for the Kumbalgarh Fort. Ah, that was difficult to climb. But the view, fucking gorgeous. If you are into mountains and adventure, the climb is a must. We clicked thousands of pictures on our way to the top.
It took us about 2 hours to climb and get down of the Fort and hear history stories from the guide. After that, we directly headed for Udaipur. We reached Udaipur at 3 pm.
We had a nice lunch at Fateh Prakash Lakeview Restaurant, the best in Udaipur. Do check out the prices of this restaurant before going in :p
After a bit of roaming the city, we headed back to Ahmedabad around 6:30 in the evening and reached Ahmedabad around 12. Though it was a short trip, but we really enjoyed it.
