Jaipur Literature Fest (JLF) is the world's biggest literature festival that is held in Jaipur, Rajasthan every year. Authors and readers from all over the world flock to JLF each winter, welcoming stories from every nook and corner of the globe. If you are part of the very few people who haven't attended even a single JLF, you're missing out on something that might just change your life. Here are a few things that you cannot miss if you're at JLF 2020 which will be held from January 23-27, 2020.

1. The Fest

JLF is a 5-day fest where notable authors, speakers and intellectuals speak on various topics and hold interactive sessions with the audience. Whether it is a book release or a common topic of debate of the recent times, JLF is the place to hear about it all. The sessions are held hourly from 10:30am - 6pm across 5-6 venues within Diggi Palace. This year's notable speakers include Vikram Seth, Anurag Kashyap, Helen Fielding, J. M. Coetzee and Salman Rushdie, and many others.

Although online registrations are now closed, you can still purchase passes available at the venue.

2. JLF Music Stage

The Music Stage is a night event that takes place in Hotel Clarks Amer. This year will witness mega-performers like Rajasthan Josh Qawwali Experience, this band is known for their unique performances of folk and Manganiyar songs, Sufi poems and songs by Kabir, Baba Bulleh Shah, Baba Farid, Shah Latif. Another fusion artist to look out for is Aabha Hanjura who is renowned for acing the genre of Kashmiri folk-pop. Let Gavin James, Parvaaz, Ricky Kej and Lisa Marie Simmons dazzle you with their soul-stirring tunes.

Be it jazz, Sufi, EDM, Spanish, or Hindustani music, the Music Stage is the perfect opportunity to improve your music playlist. In the serene gardens of the hotel, grab a drink, snacks and sit leisurely by bonfires as you enjoy live music.

The pass for music stage is priced at Rs. 500.

If you don't want to spend money for these music stages, you can also enjoy music performances at Diggi Palace that go on till 12am.

Since you're going all the way to Jaipur, it only makes sense that you explore the city's rich history and culture. Plan on visiting architectural marvels such as City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort and Jal Mahal. You are sure to be astounded by Jaipur's past and its royal ways.

5. Shop till you drop

Shopping arcades like Bapu Bazaar, Hawa Mahal Road and Johari Bazaar are famous for selling Rajasthani handicrafts, kurtis, leheriya dupattas as well as precious and semi-precious jewellery.

6. Don't forget the food!

If you're a non-vegetarian, you must try Laal Maas, Rajasthan's signature dish. Restaurants you may visit to try Rajasthani food are Spice Court and Shikaar Bagh.
