I wanted to go to udaipur ever since I saw yeh jawani hai diwani, with the backdrop of luxurious udaipur. So I finally made a plan to go to udaipur just when my baby and I felt fit enough to travel after my delivery.

Day 1

Start your day with a visit to the grand city palace, it will take good 2-3 hours of your time, make sure you hire a guide to checkout all the important areas in much less time. It has many shops inside to shop for local stuff but i skipped shopping over there. Outside there is an open air cafe, it's nice but very expensive.
Go out of the palace and eat local, you will enjoy it more. While we were eating golgappas on the street, it started raining so we took shelter in a nearby leather bag shop and I ended up buying four bags from here. The entire street had a huge range of leather products to shop for and some clothes, juttis and jewellery shops too. I just bought bags and moved on.
Next on the list was jagdish temple located just at the entrance of city palace road, after the quick darshan, we hurried for the evening boat ride at lake pichola.

Day 2

Day 2 begin with a trip to monsoon palace located on a hill and the drive up the hill will transport you to another world, so don't skip this one. It had a open air cafe at the entrance itself and the view was mesmerising from there.
We headed to saheliyon ki bari on our way back to the city. It is a must see in udaipur as per me, so don't skip it at any cost. It is a beautiful garden with lush greenery and water fountains. Do hire a guide here, actually it was our guide who made this place a must see,  he explained in great details about the facts of this place  which were pretty interesting.
After a brief stopover at our hotel we went to neemach mata mandir or mini vaishno devi as people call it. So to go there you have to climb up the hill will lots of staircase or take a cable car, we did both.
And the day ended with a visit to fateh sagar lake, kind of mumbai marine drive, and dinner at huge chowpatty located over there.
I fell in love with udaipur all over again while writing this blog and revisiting my photo gallery.
