Rajasthan and it's grandeur is unmatched, when it comes to fun food and frolic. I have been to Jaipur, udaipur, Ajmer and pushkar till date but my hunger for more slice of Rajasthan has grown ever since and I jump at every opportunity to go there again and again. So last year when I had to go to Jaipur to visit my sis in law and her newborn son, I took that opportunity to visit pushkar and Ajmer along with jaipur, so I will share my memories about pushkar here.
Our day started with a visit to brahma temple, the only brahma temple in the world. I always fascinate about visiting exclusive things in the world and it was one of them.
With its many ghats it kind of gets overwhelming but it has its own charm. I loved the market area leading us to the temple, it was very rustic colorful and I even got a beautiful bag from there.
We even performed a holy ceremony over there by hiring a pandit. We did not bathe in pushkar lake but surely we sprinkled it's holy water on us as directed by the pandit.
Then we entered the temple where people told us the story of brahma and that the visit to pushkar is incomplete without visiting the savitri mandir located in the hill opposite to the temple.
Immediately after the brahma temple visit we head out for lunch in a restaurant across the temple and decided to go to savitri temple on a camel. If you have a sweet tooth like me, do try rabdi lassi and rabdi malpua here, trust me you will thank me for life...
Pushkar is not expensive at all, the camel ride costed us Rs. 850 for the entire family including the tickets of cable car for savitri mandir. So after the mesmerising rollar coaster ride into the small deserted area we reached the point from where we had to take the cable car towards the temple. The cable ride was beautiful. The mandir was beautiful too especially the view.
After coming back from the mandir we headed for Ajmer sharif in the evening. So all in all 1 day is more than enough to this beautiful and colorful slice of Rajasthan.
