Well pushkar is secluded from outer world and city buzz , surrounded by aravali mountain range. And to reach pushkar is very easy and simple ajmer is a well known city in Rajasthan and pushkar is just 15 km away from ajmer , either you can take bus it will cost 20rs or you take private or shared cab prices may vary from 150-400 according to private or shared basis. And you can hitchhike from ajmer to pushkar :)
2. Food ?
It's a Village and it's very difficult to find Western food in india. But when you are in pushkar it's not a problem anymore. Falafel are very famous in pushkar at very reasonable rate and one falafel is more than a meal also pushkar offers you a wide range of European style coffees. And you can find Indian thali's under 100rs very easily in pushkar. And some local sweets like malpooa and ugma ji ki kachori is must try dessert and snack.
3. Place to stay ?
Well you there are plenty of options in pushkar there are hotels , resorts and even budget friendly hostels like zostel and moustache. I stayed in Vella resort for 2 days and I felt like I'm in home , owner was very friendly we talked about hours about lives and interesting stories we encountered. Perks i enjoyed staying there was
everyone knows him in pushkar , I explored many places ( not shops also temples and other places ) and whenever I mentioned him people changed behavior and they were like acha aap vikram k yaha se aye ho. 4. Places to visit.
Well pushkar is a small Hamlet about 3-4sq km filled with 1000+ temples , mosques and gurudwaras . You can find both nagara and dravidian styled Temples in pushkar , and only pushkar has the lord bramha temple in the world which is very sacred. You can also enjoy the markets of pushkar. This place holds some magic in it. Pushkar is really small Hamlet still people stay here for months. And solo travellers must visit pushkar once in their life.
