Jasol village – a few hours away from Jodhpur city is a small village situated in the Barmer district and has a few things to see. One can hop on a train bound for Bikaner and get down at Balotra station. Jasol village is half an hour away from Balotra and is accessible by taking shared autos from the station. The village is simply quiet but has it's own charm. We stayed overnight at the home of an acquaintance and pretty much enjoyed the village life under the starry sky. The following day, we hiked up to see the old remains of Jasol fort which rests on top of a hill and a small temple near the fort. The hilltop offers a beautiful view of both village and Balotra town. The village is home to many textile units known for block printing and the famous Jain Nakoda temple. You can see numerous temples on your way to Nakoda temple. We wrapped up our tour by paying a visit to the cattle fair.
