India's very own blue city, Jodhpur is also known as the "Gateway to Thar". Jodhpur gives you a sense of stepping back in time. It is as raw and authentic as it gets to the real Indian culture, unlike most of the tourist places in Rajasthan. It is the second largest city in Rajasthan.
Best Time To Visit
Best time to visit Jodhpur would be between October to March as summers get extremely hot in Rajasthan.
Duration of Stay
I would say two days would be perfect to cover all the main places.

By Train/Bus - If you are covering a lot of places in Rajasthan, this is the most preferred way by tourists. Jodhpur is well connected by train/bus. (If you are planning to go from Jaipur to Jodhpur by train, it is a 10 hour journey. You can take an overnight train to save time. This is what I did)
