Kedarkantha is the beginner's trek and we wanted to start our new year on the mountain. We had never been on trek and we decided that this time we had to this.
We booked our trip through Himalayan high which seemed to the cheapest option during on season.
We left for dehradun on 26th and reached on 27th
We roamed around the city after checking into the hotel as our ride to sankri was booked for next day morning.
We went to eat the South Indian food to indian vibes restaurant which serves amazing south indian food.
We woke up by 3:30 am as we had to leave by 5:00am. we left for the pickup spot, we left for sankri, road to sankri isn't very good and it took us 9hours to reach sankri.
We reached by 4:30 pm and we were already feeling chilly. We settled down in the amazing cottages and we're ready for the orientation. We were given briefing about the do's and Don't's during the trip. Next day we were to start our 5 day trek.
We woke up ate breakfast and were all set to leave for the trek. We trekked to the first camp, which didn't seem a big task. It was really beautiful during night, you could see all the stars in the sky and nothing else. Night was really chilly. It was hard for me to fall asleep. Juda ka talab was really nice and people are prone to fall and hurt themselves if not careful. I saw a girl breaking her hand.
Next day we had to start for kedarkantha base camp. We reached and were given instructions for the next day trek to kedarkantha peak.
We started early by 3:00am as it gets crowded. And we reached the beautiful peak to see that sun rise.
Amazing feeling to feel that warmth and sunshine 🌞. We made it.
Same day we packed our luggage had lunch and left for hargaon camp.
We were so thrilled to go down to sankri and feel relaxed as this was but exhausting for us. It wasn't tough and it becomes more fun if you have good people to travel with.
We were ready for dehradun and then back to Jaipur.
Suggestion :- go for this trip but take precautions like
1. Stop smoking before 30 days of trip( you will feel the change)
2. Don't buy anything and try to rent as if you won't plan for trek anytime soon the things will be of waste
3. Carry more socks than specified and carry more t-shirts as mine got wet in sweat and then I cought cold
4. Listen to your guide and don't try stupid stuff cause people do really get hurt badly and get sick
