Jaipur: The Heritage of Rajasthan

I say that you should travel whenever you could because life is too short to plan trips and execute them!

So without any outline planned, we left for Jaipur from Delhi at 5:30 a.m which is 260km approximately.

The perks of road trips are pretty amazing. You get to see the Sunrise, birds flying in flocks with changing patterns, a beautiful sky and music of your own choice!

On the way to Jaipur, we planned to visit Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Jantar Mantar and the local market of Jaipur.

The route is pretty straight and easy from Delhi to Jaipur, so you don't need GPS tbh which saves a lot of time, mobile battery 😁 and confusion.

We headed to Tattoo cafe which is in front of the Hawamahal to click the best pictures we could.

Tattoo cafe is perfect to experience the city view surrounded with forts on the right and back side, Hawamahal on the front and whole city view on the left.

After having a good appetite, we toured Hawamahal which costs 50 INR per head.

You'll find the architecture so beautiful that it will stun you for a moment. It gives the feel of old forts in Delhi. The architecture is somewhat similar to that.

It should take about 30-45 mins to tour the whole mahal.

And from here, we left for Amer Fort, popularly known as Amer palace also which is roughly 7km from Hawamahal.

I also had a chit-chat with the local shopkeepers to find out what is worthy to visit around. They suggested Amer Fort and City palace to take a stroll which takes about 2 hours at a single place.

Though, Amer Fort was suggested by many so we headed there without second opinion and it was worth visiting.

At Amer palace, you'll find a vibe of Rajasthani culture that they maintain in palaces at Udaipur and the vibe which will take you back in old days of Rajputana dynasties. This fort is 400+ years old and built by Raja Man Singh. Amer was the original capital of state before Jaipur.

Traveling in COVID is a new normal because we'll have to get used to it if we want to see everything running. Paying a visit to Jaipur in COVID was never a plan however I didn't find it much different as everything was the way it should be.

The elephant rides were on hold due to covid which Jaipur tourism recently resumed. It costs around 1000 for two which is worth taking as that adds the Royal touch to enhance the experience.

You may spend 2-3 hours at fort, touring all the places in the fort. It's a perfect place for a shoot of any kind. There are four main complexes in the fort:
Diwan-i-aam, place for public meeting
Diwan-i-khas, place for private gathering
Sukh Niwas
Sheesh Mahal
Jai Mandir

Amer Fort is an architectural marvel. If you're someone who appreciates historic beauties then it should be on your bucket list.

My takeaway from the palace is..

After filling our soul with the beautiful culture of Rajasthan, we headed for the famous Jalmahal which is near by Amer Fort.

Jal Mahal is visible from the road that leads to main city area. One could have a clear glimpse of mahal from that side as well. It is a five-storied building made of red sandstone which is situated in the middle of Mansarovar lake.

The place was crowded with local people, hawkers, carts and tourists. There was this market kind of a thing on the sidewalks where souvenirs or local rajasthani stuff could be bought.

The vibe of Jaipur is pretty good.

Pay a visit here in the season of Oct-March as it gets too hot at noon. It's a perfect place to plan a day trip from Delhi.
