Hilly areas have always been my favourites. Hence when we had a long weekend thought of exploring another nearby hilly area of My Abu .. A good 1 days drive from Bombay considering the traffic and ghats n all ...We ended up booking the wrong hotel ... so Abu road is the station at the base and Mt Abu is the hill-station.. But we were lucky to have found 1 room in Jaipur House.
Would highly recommend this hotel for stay. Heritage palace with modern emenities. You get the feel of the palace with the comfort needed..Being at a height it gives you the underlying view of Nakki lake and the whole of Abu. The staff is very helpful and the place is kept beautiful with gardens n lot of scenic spots to be relaxing at .. They have the bar by the garden in the evening with some campfire to keep you warm. Food options are good n made with finesse
The main reasons for these hill stations is the relaxing quotient and hence a good stay option is mandatory. You could in the leisure venture out to explore the below points
Sight Seeing :
Dillwara temples : don't miss the intricate carvings
Gurushikhar Point : the highest of the Aravallis..Winding roads all the way to the peak
There is also a forest reserve there where you can explore for some crocodiles in the lake or good birding options.
Local market : is a hit for chats, drinks and shoppings.
Balasinore : is a dinosaur excavation site about 4hrs from Mt Abu ...Do try to cover the same for a different experience.
