There's one thing I can easily bet on, i.e., whenever a delhite is planning on a road trip, Jaipur has to be among the first few options that crosses the mind. And the truth is, this thought is never getting old and crashing in Jaipur for the weekend is always fun. Here's to our 4 days in Jaipur. This blog covers places to visit, how to reach, nightlife, and fooooooood in Jaipur.

Day 4

We began our last day in Jaipur by driving to the Amer Fort again to witness the elephant ride at Amer Fort. The elephant safari is a famous tradition of Amer. It costs around INR 1100 for one person. The elephant drops you at the main entrance of the fort and you can come back on foot. It is quite an adventure. It adds to the beauty of Amer.

Day 1

Driving to Jaipur could be absolute fun through the NH-48 Delhi-Jaipur highway. It takes around 4 hours to reach Jaipur. We started at around 8 am and reached Jaipur at 12:30 p.m and checked into a beautiful hotel property that goes by the name "Vesta Maurya Palace" that we'd booked through goibibo.com at a fair price. The hotel was located at Ashok Nagar, Jaipur. It has a super awesome location and features a rooftop pool. The rooms were spacious, cozy and comfy. We ordered vegetable biryani and I would rate it 4/5. We relaxed, enjoyed and began strolling the local market "Bapu Bazar" by 5 in the evening. After the sunset, we spent a lot of time around beautifully lit Hawa Mahal. Our next stop was Albert Hall Museum. This is one place where you can just sit back and enjoy the lighting over magnanimous architecture. We kept exploring places to have dinner and unknowingly ended up in a school themed cafe named "School - The veg cafe" and trust me, I would literally want to visit Jaipur again just to relish their signature Pizza Golgappe, Mysore Masala Dosa and Chai. The cafe is open till 1 am.

Day 2

We had met some localites on the previous day who suggested us to have breakfast at Tapri Central and we took their advice. Started our day by visiting "Tapri Central" which was very near to our hotel. The cafe opens at 7:30 am and has perfect vibes to have a hearty breakfast. I would give the food 3 out of 5 stars, but it can definitely be visited for the decor and ambience that it offers. We had maggi, spinach sandwiches and ginger tea. The next stop in our itinerary was Nahargarh Fort. On our way towards the fort, we got to witness the Teej Festival which we didn't know much about. But it turned out to be great. It is always thrilling to be a part of different festivals all around India. After covering Teej festival, we moved towards Nahargarh which is absolutely a mesmerising place to be at. We stopped at Jal Mahal for a quick photo-session as it is on the way. Nahargarh fort is located at a decent altitude and offers panoramic views of Jaipur. There is another fort that we visited right after Nagargarh, i.e., Jaigarh Fort. In my opinion, Nahargarh fort offers better views a slightly better view. We waited for sunset at Nahargarh fort but unfortunately, it rained. However, I would suggest if you aren't visiting Jaipur in monsoon, it is best to witness sunset from Nahargarh fort. While on our way back, we stopped to have maggi with a view at a viewpoint. The ticket prices for Nahargarh Fort is INR 50 per person. It is located around 17 kms from the centre and takes around 35-40 mins to reach. For dinner, we finalised at a very exquisitely designed cafe "The Night Jar." I would rate this place 5 out of 5 stars for what is offers, i.e., great ambience, good music, perfect pricing, and premium decor and amazing North Indian food. The dishes that we'd ordered were Kadhai Chicken, Dal Makhni, Amritsari Kulcha and Iced Tea for drinks. The presentation of food, however, can be improved. The cost for 2 at Night Jar with mocktails land somewhere around INR 1000 and it's centrally located at MI road which again wasn't far from our hotel.

That's how we ended day 2 being dead tired.

Day 3

The Day 3 in Jaipur was quite a bit. Half the day was about relaxing and swimming at the rooftop pool in our hotel. We left the hotel at around 4 pm to visit the Amer Fort during sunset. Amer fort is located at a distance of 11 kms from the centre. It took around 40 mins to reach due to heavy traffic on the route. Because of being stuck in traffic, we took a turn towards the narrow lanes of Amer. This decision of ours led us to meet and interact with the locals of Amer. After sometime, we started walking towards the Amer Fort. Amer is spread in a very wide area. You can easily spend a full day exploring Amer fort. We were half-way when the sun began to set. We took a jeep ride to be back to Amer (you will come across guides that ask if you want to go back in a jeep) . On our way back, we explored local shops that sell Jaipuri quilts, sarees and kurtas. After being done with Amer Fort, we headed towards Chokhi Dhani, which is absolutely the best place to relish Rajasthani cuisine and witness raw Rajasthani culture. It's among the must-visit places in Jaipur. The cheapest Rajasthani thali costs around INR 700 for one person. It may seem a bit expensive until you pass the entrance. It is located around 11 kms from the centre. If you aren't on a road, it's best to hire a rental taxi because it may be a difficult task to get an ola/uber to be back to Jaipur during late hours. That's how we ended day 3.

There's another adventure which we went on for is to climb over thousand stairs to get the panoramic view of Amer fort. The fort is surrounded by 4 great walls on each side. You can climb up on any of the four walls to get a splendid view of the fort. After pleasing our eyes, we feasted over Mirchi Vada, a street food from Rajastham after which we headed to cover touristy places in Jaipur. We went to the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar. These places are located in the heart of the city. The ticket prices are as follows: City Palace INR 75, Hawa Mahal INR 50, Jantar Mantar INR 50. In the end, we covered our last spot in the itinerary, Wind View Cafe. This cafe is located right adjacent to Hawa Mahal. It gives a dining experience with a view of Hawa Mahal. It is surely a place to be. The cost for two could land around INR 800. We tasted Szechuan fried rice, paneer roll and tea. That was our last stop. We left for Delhi at 5 pm and reached by 9:30 pm. I hope I've covered alomst all things to do in Jaipur.

If you're visiting Jaipur, this blog could serve as a perfect itinerary as well. Happy travelling, good luck!
