Khwaja Nawaz Dargah Ajmer is the tomb of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. He was the great preacher of Islam in the world.

He is known as a propagator of his great teachings and peace. This Sufi saint came from Parasia. After winning hearts of all in Ajmer, he died in 1236. This Sufi saint also is known as Khwaja Nawaz.

Later, Mughal emperor Humayun, Akbar, Shahjahan and Jahangir built the mosque. The main tomb is known as Nizam Gate, which was created by Shah Jahan. Hence this gate is also known as Shahjahan Gate.

After this, there is a Buland Darwaza. The Urs festival started on which to hoist the flag of Urs.

In South Asia, generally 'Urs' is said to be held annually on the Dargah on the death anniversary of a Sufi saint.

South Asian Sufi saints are mainly called 'Chistiyaa'. These Sufi saints considered as lovers of God.

The death of the Sufi saint is called 'Visal', which means "the reconciliation of lovers".

QUL Day

QUL is the last day of Urs festival which is the sixth day of the celebration. This festival is the most important day, and after the morning prayers, the devotees start gathering near the Holy Grave.

After that, a singing of the Quran, Shizra-e-Chishti and other verses sung. Devotees also tie each other with turbans and pray for peace and happiness.

From the days of Urs, passing through the Jannati gate near the 'Shahjani Masjid' of the Dargah Jaireen's also wish for Khwaja's sandalwood, which is only released once a year during the Urs.
