A trip to golden city and blue city of India #Jaisalmer and #Jodhpur.

Jaisalmer popularly known as Golden city of India famous for its golden Jaisalmer Fort, Desert Sand Dunes, sharing border with Pakistan, Kuldhara .

Jodhpur popularly known as Blue city of India as almost every house and offices are blue colored famous for the Rajasthani culture, Mehrangarh fort and India's youngest and costliest Palace Umaid Bhavan Palace. Both the places have that Rajasthani Maharaja culture with in them which you feel once you reach there.

We completed both the places in 2 nights 3 day time as we are always short in time as follow

Jaisalmer is a nice place to visit from October to March when temperature is down still in the afternoon you can feel the heat and at night chilly cold.

You need atleast 2 full days to complete full jaisalmer out which 1 should be in Sam Sand dunes where in you can enjoy camel ride, jeep safari, sunset watching, etc.

Jodhpur is famous for bandhej so if you planning to do some shopping then plan accordingly otherwise 1 night in Jodhpur is more than enough.

We took a bus from Ahmedabad which dropped me at airforce circle of Jaisalmer .The wonderful city with all houses in golden color and many ancient history to be known.

We fixed our cab with my local contact for jaisalmer in prior only. He was a good person and took us to almost all famous places of Jaisalmer. In Jodhpur also we hired a local cab driver of my contact for all sightseeing.

After freshen up we went to the see the Jaisalmer fort which is too huge and you will need to approx 3-4 hours to complete it. This beautiful fort is made of yellow colored stones .So when there is sunrise sun rays light up this fort it looks as if fort is made up of golden so its also called golden Fort. Then we went to complete other sightseeing after lunch.

This included many places like gadisagar lake,Jaisalmer war musuem, Bada bagh, Mool sagar, shalinsingh ki haveli, patwa haveli, nathmal haveli, etc. and the remaining we completed on 2nd day before catching the bus to Jodhpur.

After completing the sightseeing we can we left for Sam Sand Dunes of Thar desert in Rajasthan where you can enjoy camel safari, jeep safari and explore sand desert and play with sand and famous camel race can also be seen here. You can stay here in Swiss Tents and enjoy Local folk dance and authentic Rajasthani food in Dinner which is awesome and an experience you should take once in life.

After checking out from tent in sand dunes we went here which is a famous haunted village Kudhara, near Jaisalmer and has deep history associated. and then went back to Jaisalmer city and completed the remaining sightseeing places.

We departed from Jaisalmer by bus at around 1.30 pm and reached Jodhpur by 6.30 pm and then we went to hotel and out in local market near Clock tower and dinner.

Famous for kachoris and samosas and sitafal cream which we tried and it tasted very good.

Next day morning we went to the Mehrangarh fort which is huge ,young and almost in its original condition with huge musuems in it.This is built on a cliff almost 410 ft above the city with thick walls known for carvings and consisting of seven different period rooms like Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Takhat Vilas, Sardar Vilas, Jhanki Mahal, Dipak Mahal, Moti Mahal and many more galleries to add on. This fort same as Jaisalmer fort is humugous, beautiful, architectural masterpiece and should be in travel bucket list.

Then we went to visit the costliest and youngest palace of India Umaid Bhavan Palace famous for wedding of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas recently.

This is converted into hotel by Taj and it is one of the 6 costliest hotels in India. Mainly you can see is palace from outside and a collection of vintage cars and clocks of king.

I am disappointed that Umaid Bhavan Palace is not fully open for common public its only 1/4th of whole Palace.

Then we went on to visit the local sightseeing place like Jaswant Thada, Kaylana lake, Garden and main market in Jodhpur.

Overall trip was good enjoyed more of Jaisalmer as compared to Jodhpur and stay at sam dunes in Swiss tent in Jaisalmer and camel ride was memorable for me.
