We took the overnight train from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station (code NZM) in New Delhi and head towards Udaipur for our 3 day weekend trip to Rajasthan. Had plan to cover both the forts -Kumbhalgarh & Chittorgarh along with famous Jain temple at Ranakpur which comes on the way to Kumbhalgarh.
Day 1
Checking in to Lake Pichola Hotel, Udaipur and enjoying the ambience of Lake Pichola while sipping coffee from balcony.
Then go around in auto for half day city tour to places like city palace, Jagdish Temple and boating on Lake Pichola etc. Some of the snaps I took are
We ended the day on a high note with sumptuous dinner at rooftop restaurant of lakepichola hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights- one night each in standard room & lake facing room , respectively.
Day 2
After breakfast, we started early for Kumbhalgarh Fort. The road was scenic, probably the best road journey we had. Road in some portions was not that good specially as it was post monsoon period. But the beauty of Aravalli enthralled us.
Day 3
We checked out early and took the cab for highway for Chittorgarh fort. We had plan to board the night train to Delhi from Chittorgarh station and had enough time to cover the fort. Some of the shots are here :
Thus in three days, we could easily cover Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur and Chittorgarh enriching our memories with memorable Mewar history and culture.
