If you are flying then you can fly into Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur. You can also reach Udaipur via road or rail.

If you are staying near City Palace area then most of the attractions will be a walking distance for you. One can always hire a two wheeler or rent a rickshaw for the entire day.
Things to do in Udaipur
1. Visit the City Palace
Like all the City Palaces in different cities of Rajasthan, the one in Udaipur also showcases the rich culture of Rajasthan. Constructed on the banks of the Lake Pichola, the Palace is a nice blend of Chinese, medieval, and European form of architecture. It takes about 3-4 hours to see the entire palace.
2. See Folk Dances at Baghor ki Haveli
For a mere entrance fee of Rs 90/-, you can watch traditional folk dances and puppet shows. Every evening an hour long show takes place in the haveli.
Tip: Seating arrangement is on first come first serve basis so make sure to reach early.
3. Go for a boat ride in Lake Pichola
One has to go for a boat ride in the city of Lakes and a boat ride in lake Pichola is highly recommended. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the picturesque view.
4. Enjoy Chaat at Fateh Sagar Lake
Fateh Sagar Lake is a famous tourist attraction and always crowded. However one can enjoy some mouth-watering chaats here.
5. Seek blessings from Karni Mata
Located on a hill top, the temple is accessible through a rope-way.
6. Enjoy a Traditional Thali at Natraj
There are two Natraj restaurants in Udaipur. Have a traditional thali at the old outlet.
7. See the magnificient statue of Maharana Pratap at Moti Magri
Overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake, Moti Magri pays tribute to Maharana Pratap. There is a museum inside. Moti Magri covers a large area and one can easily get lost. If you are riding solo then make sure to not venture out alone in deserted places.
Tip: If you are walking it out then carry a water bottle, cap and big bottle of sunscreen
8. Eat by the Lake at Ambrai
The open air lake side restaurant has a breath-taking view of Lake Pichola. The restaurant serves North Indian, Chinese and Continental food.
