A Breezy Sunrise and Mystic Sunset in the Pink City

It was 12th November and I just came from the office. Next day was my off so I was thinking of getaway and thought of chasing sunshine and sunsets from Nahargarh Fort prompted to book a overnight train to Jaipur. And here comes the most difficult part of arranging the two wheeler in the morning as I was reaching Jaipur station at morning 5:30 a.m and also I wanted to roam around the city for that day so I wanted to avoid any sort of taxi/cabs. I browsed and came to know about a site called Roadpanda that rent two wheelers from morning 6:00 a.m. Since it was best suited to my requirements of solo travel to witness the sunrise , I booked the same. Their service was right on time and the vehicles provided were in very good condition very reasonable price (Not promoting any platform). Alternatively you can book a cab/Zoomcar if you want it for full day tour or else go with Auto/Taxi and Ola Rentals If you want to witness just sunset or sunrise.

Sunrise:

I reached at the sunrise point at Nahargarh Fort and it was breezy mild winder but enough to chill you out in the morning. Nahargarh Fort is the most popular place in Jaipur to watch a sunrise. It’s not surprising why it is so. Apart from sunrise, you can enjoy the beautiful Jaipur view from the top since it is perched over a hill overlooking the city.

The sunrise point in Nahargarh Fort is on the east face near the Baori. It is close to the Baori where famous song Masti ki Pathshala from Bollywood movie Rang De Basanti was filmed. It’s known as Rang De Basanti shooting point or location. The Department of Archaeology managing the Nahargarh Fort has marked a different place for watching a sunrise. This is near the tri-junction of the road leading to the Baori just before the parking. The most popular route to reach Nahargarh is through the hill road which branches off from Amer Road just after Kanak Ghati. It’s a beautiful road which has stunning views of the Jal Mahal.

It was one of the most beautiful and vivid sunrise I have chased and witnessed, not to mention it felt very good to finally get some warmth of sun rays after waiting for sunrise for almost an hour.

Sunset:

After a day of visit in roaming solo in Jaipur I finally came back to Nahargarh at 4:00 P.M. I decided to club a visit to Nahargarh Fort along with the sunset. I was lucky to be able to visit Nahargarh Fort during the sunset. Nahargarh Fort is famed for great sunset views. Recently, the authorities have created a Jaipur Sunset Point in Nahargarh Fort.

It was a unique experience to see the sun setting down slowly over the city with changing colors of the sky. It was totally wonderful and must experience.

Note: Try to book your conveyance both ways as you will not get anything to get back from Nahargarh unless you want to walk to the main road, where also the chances of getting auto/taxi is very less. So it would be better to book Ola rentals for the same or hire taxi/two wheelers if you want it for full day.
