Bravery and romance resound from the formidable monuments that majestically stand to tell the tale of a bygone era. The magic of vibrant Rajasthan - its rich heritage, colorful culture, exciting desert safaris, shining sand-dunes, amazing variety lush forests and varied wildlife - makes it a destination having no match. Rajasthan is often portrayed as one vast open-air museum, with its relics so well preserved that it delights even the most skeptical traveler.

Day1: Jaipur

When you plan to travel Rajasthan for the first time, Jaipur is the city you would like to start. So I arrived at Jaipur International airport in Sanganer at around 8.30 am and took a cab from airport to my stay at my relative's place. Not too far from city center, post breakfast I proceeded for local sightseeing of Pink City, aka Old Jaipur.

Places visited : Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace and later in the evening was my shopping time in Johari Bazaar. I shopped some printed cotton dresses, Lac bangles, Jaipuri Quilts, Minakari Jewels and Mojris. You get good stuff and must have bargaining skills.
