Puri is perfect blend of spiritual feel and relaxation for a weekend, the destination where you need no planning.
We went to Bhubaneswar to our friend's wedding and we had plenty of time, so we decided to see the beach.
1500-2000, you can get 9Seater from bhubaneswar even ola/Uber outstation is a good option.
It takes 1.5-2hrs to reach Puri.
We booked the hotel near by beach, started from Bhubaneswar at around 7.30 pm and reached there at around 9.30pm ...we checked in, partied all night .... everything is available there you just need to ask at chai points 😜
Early morning we decided to visit Famous Jaganath Temple. It took 3 generations time to build this temple, fact says it was build at around year 1078, but belief says this temple was started by God Vishwakarma even before that.
We checked at hotel reception for the Panda(priest), it's advisable to take Panda for puja and temple visit
Well no phone is allowed inside the Temple, which makes it even more better, because when you are not busy taking pictures, you actually pay attention to details.
We entered from Dakshin gate, it's important to remember the gate , because you are supposed to leave from the same gate.
1. first we saw the Maya Pathar (stone) , it's famous because stories says God Jagannath fell on this stone only, it's a long slightly rectangular shaped stone, and special thing about it, if you say something at one end, you can hear it at other end.
2. Another miraculous fact was the direction of the temple flag, it's always at the opposite direction of the wind. For 1000 of years , this flag gets change everyday by the priest, beliefs says if you don't change it, mandir will be closed for 12 years. So irrespective of weather conditions, priest changes the flag everyday.
3. Then I was surprised by the Kalp vricha (tree) , that tree is older than the temple.
4. You must visit to rasoi, you will be amazed by the way of cooking.
After visiting temple, we came back to hotel and relaxed for a while.
At around 4 we went to beach ....and it was just amazing ...
4pm to 6pm ...golden hours for photoshoot and weather was perfect.
we spent rest of the time at beach till 7 pm
And then we went to market to buy souvenir. At night , we went to beach again for snacks and tea.
Next morning we went back to Bhubaneswar with lots of memories and pictures ....
