Day 2: Leisure Stay at Park Inn by Radisson & Exploring local Amritsar.
.
Our Stay at Park Inn by Radisson near Amritsar Airport was totally comfy and amazing. We took an IC room since we were 4 friends together. The property was surrounded by lush greens and we were given a beautiful pool facing sweet. After breakfast we left for Golden Temple and I must say the visit was worth it. I could see people and their faith , how people from every race , religion walked in with a postive hope of receiving blessings.
We did the same and then went to the local market for shopping some beautiful Phulkaris . The market had multiple shops and it was not that easy to decide where to step in. After a lot of confusion we stepped into ' Khalsa Phulkaris ' and picked some amazing Punjabi suits . Next on the bucket list was the trial of some lip smacking Punjab style dhaba food.
After inquiring from the locals of the city we finally landed into , ' Makkhan Fish & Chicken ' a dhaba style restaurant which serves authentic Punjabi food. Since we all were starving we ordered all their specialities from ' Chhat di lassi to fish curry , pindi channa , bhunna chicken , rice , mint paranthas & butter naan'. And I must tell you the food was a real delight for us. I can still relish every bite I had.
Coming to food I would suggest one must explore the local authentic food of the dhabas instead of going for luxury cafes n so on. Some are of the famous joints are - KALLE DA DHABA , KESAR DA DHABA , MAKKHAN DA DHABA , BROTHERS DHABA. If you're planning a trip to Punjab you must explore atleast some of them.
Day 1 : Reaching Amritsar via road ( Amazing eatery experiences)
.
It was long lapse due to pandemic n I had not been anywhere. After a lot of struggle we decided to plan a short trip to Punjab for a change of place.
Well I'm basically a mountain lover , but after being to Punjab I would say there's so much more to explore there in terms of food , local people , language and culture.
We started our journey by 3:00 AM at night as it was a road trip and we wanted to enjoy every ounce of it. It was a 13hr long journey via road. We haulted at Amrikh Sukhdev for having a rice Punjabi breakfast as this place is known for its 'KHULLAD WALI CHAI' & 'PARANTHAS WITH BUTTER' . We took the peripheral highway in order to reach on time.
Finally , we reached Amritsar at around 4:00 PM in the evening . The City welcomed us with numerous of food eateries along the way. Since it was long journey we decided to have some leisure time at the hotel that day.
Day 3 : A comfy stay at Keys Select by Lemon Tree in Ludhiana and exploring the local market.
.
After the breakfast at the hotel , we pushed off to Ludhiana as we all wanted a day more in Punjab. We booked 2 premium sweets at Keys Select by Lemon Tree in Ludhiana and there's no doubt that the hotel staff made our stay very comfortable with their hospitality , food etc.
After checking in to the hotel we all relaxed for 2hrs and then decided to go to some local cafe . After inquiring about the best cafes we went to 'Bake N Grill' a small cute eatery which serves best fries , breads , pizzas n donuts. We had some garlic bread n donuts n then went to ' Ghumaar Mandi' the local shopping market at Ludhiana where you will find eye catching ' Punjabi Juttis' . There are all sorts of shops , we can bargain there if you're good at it.
We purchased a few pairs of juttis , ate some local chaat and then went back to the hotel at night.
Being a small trip it was short , enjoyable and memorable. Punjab gave us some really good memories in terms of food n shopping.
