Me and my husband wanted a day trip somewhere near Pune to go with the family and we came across the 'Kas Pathar' valley tour. We ran through some packages and got the one including Kas Pathar tour and Theoseghar waterfall.
What is Kas Pathar Valley ?
Maharashtra has its own Flower Valley Kaas Plateau also known as Kas Pathar. It is been declared as Biodiversity World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Best time to visit Kaas Plateau is just after the end of monsoon during September and October. This is because after Kas Plateau receives a very high rainfall and then this plateau turns into carpet of flowers.

We booked 1 day package which included visit to Kas and waterfall. It takes 3 hours to reach to Kas from Pune. The journey began in morning, we reached there by afternoon. The package also included breakfast and lunch. We had break on the way.

After valley visit you get to visit a lake near by. View from the lake was splendid. Clear sky, no pollution, which is an unusual picture for city folks. After having an half hour of peaceful visit to lake we left for waterfall.
Waterfall we were going to visit was 'Thoseghar' waterfall. Its the name of village. Height is 200 m and we had to trek a certain height to reach that place. Soothing sound of waterfall can make you feel calm and happy.
So if you want to take a break on weekend and experience calm and relax atmosphere Kas Plathar visit along with waterfall should be you next destination.
