I was fortunate to attend the Sharad Pournima program at Iskcon temple in Nigdi, Pune. The festival was an extravagant affair of beauty and grandness.
This temple has a beautiful architecture which resembles to the temples in Japan. It is situated in a quite place with farms in backyard. The beautiful dome attracts attention from distance.
The Govinda's restaurant at entrance provides tasty prasadam. A big embellished bell welcomes at the entrance to temple hall. Temple hall has marvelous wooden architecture with big wooden lamps. The Lit atmosphere helps to set the spiritual mood.
The presiding deiteis, Shri Shri Radha Govind are immensely beautiful. The Krishna deity is in black marble whereas Radharani is White marble. They are so beautiful that you could stand for minutes in front of them. Everyday, deities are decorated with royal and bright outfits with beautiful garlands.
The sharad pournima happened on the evening on the day. The temple was beautifully decorated in strings of lights. Deities were looking marvelous in white outfits and whole atmosphere was enriched with spiritual vibes. I also got to hear Krishna katha and sanctified prasadam which was like cherry on cake. I had sumptuous feast with 12 items. Yummm....!!
