I prefer unique, off-the-beaten path experiences and I seek those out everywhere I go. I prefer to discover unknown bars and restaurants rather than follow a guidebook, and getting to know locals whenever I can. In the past 2 years, I've visited Colombia, Jordan, Egypt, Spain, Croatia, Italy, and Mexico. I currently call Texas home and work full time as a social media strategist, which means I, like many people, am limited to only a few weeks of vacation per year. As a result, I know how to pack in amazing experiences in a short amount of time without sacrificing quality or authenticity. I also travel on a limited budget, and prefer to stay in low-cost hostels, B&B's, and smaller hotels when I can -- but I know when it's worth it to splurge, like on an unbelievable meal. Finally, I'm also an artist, and this colors my experiences when I travel: I tend to have a preference for interesting museums and art galleries, as well as an eye for those small details that many would overlook, yet make for beautiful, interesting, and unique travel photography.
