It was totally a random trip. We were planning to visit Stockholm and ended up booking our flight tickets and Airbnb apartment to Prague. Thanks to a friend who suggested us this place.
Where to Stay :
Why Airbnb???
If you are travelling with children or if you are one who is a tea lover like me (there could be other reasons as well), you should always opt for an Airbnb apartment with kitchen so that if your baby want milk or if you want tea, you can actually make it. I personally love starting my day with a hot cup of tea and in Europe you will get coffee everywhere but Indian chai is not available anywhere. We were 4 adult and 1 child and our apartment has 2 rooms, 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom which is good spacious and budget friendly.
Let’s move to the content. We reached Prague on Friday evening and returned back on Monday morning. So, we had 2 complete days to explore this beautiful place and I feel that 2 days are good for Prague. Now, I will share my itinerary with you guys…
We reached airport on Friday evening and bought city day pass and took a bus to reach our airbnb apartment. Bus stop was just next to the airport. After reaching, we had dinner and slept as we wanted to start our day early morning next day.

Started my Day 2 again early in the morning and went for a morning walk on Charles Bridge and at this time place was empty and I was able to get some amazing pictures of the bridge. So, if you want to get some good pictures and video and want to avoid crowd then wakeup early.
9. Franz Kafka - Rotating Head :
The Head of Franz Kafka, also known as the Statue of Kafka, is an outdoor sculpture by David Černý depicting Bohemian German-language writer Franz Kafka, installed outside the Quadrio shopping centre in Prague, Czech Republic. The kinetic sculpture is 11 metres tall and made of 42 rotating panels.
10. Old Town Square Prague:
It is the oldest square in the city, but the main reason is that it is so insanely beautiful, and there are so many things to see and do that everyone wants to admire the stunning architecture and magical pulsing atmosphere even for a while. It is the most significant square of historical Prague, it was founded in the 12th century and has been witness to many historical events. You can sit, relax and eat here.
11. Prague Astronomical Clock :
Do you know this clock is said to be curse?
It was created in 1410 by two men: Mikuláš of Kadaň and Jan Šindel . this is now known to be a historical mistake .
A legend, recounted by Alois Jirásek, has it that the clockmaker Hanuš was blinded on the order of the Prague Councillors so that he could not repeat his work; in turn, he disabled the clock, and no one was able to repair it for the next hundred years.
Driven mad, the clockmaker took the ultimate revenge, throwing himself into his extraordinary work of art, gumming up the clock's gears and ending his own life in one stroke. In doing so, he cursed the clock. All who tried to fix it would either go insane, or die
The Prague Astronomical Clock or Prague Orloj is a medieval astronomical clock attached to the Old Town Hall in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still in operation.
The Astronomical clock show runs every hour sharp from 9 AM till 11 PM
12. The Lennon Wall
The Lennon Wall or John Lennon Wall was created in 1980s, this once typical wall has been filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti, lyrics from Beatles' songs, and designs relating to local and global causes.
it is home to political art and slogans that aim to spread love and peace.
13. Kampa Island :
London has the Thames, Paris the Seine, and Prague the River Vltava! It is the longest river in the country, and also passes through the wonderful city of Cesky Krumlov. Join a boat tour or go kayaking on the river to have the best view of the city.
Tip: If passing over the legion bridge, take the stairs down below to Strelecky Island. The small island sitting between the banks of the river is a beautiful green space of trees to enjoy a picnic and some peace away from the buzz of the city.
It is an island in Prague where you can find restaurants by the beach side. Also if you want to take a boat ride and enjoy sightseeing, this place is for you.
14.Kampa Museum :
You will find Kampa museum, Kampa island and Crawling Babies along with a park in the same campus.
15. St. Vitus Cathedral
Vitus Cathedral is iconic to Prague, with its twin gothic spires, detailed carvings, and impressive gargoyles. The cathedral has influences of many different architectural styles as it took nearly 600 years to complete!
Things Not to miss when you are in Prague :
1. Sunset View From the Top Of Dancing House:
This was the most amazing view of Prague from the top of Dancing House.
If you want to visit the rooftop of Dancing house then you need to either buy a ticket of 100 czk or buy a drink for yourself and obviously we got a drink in 100 czk so why to just buy a ticket 😂
My recommendation is to must visit this place at the time of sunset.
2. Tram Ride :
I have never got a chance to travel in the Tram and this is the first time, I was travelling in a Tram. If you want to go a little slow while seeing the beautiful view of the City then Tram is best for you. If you are taking a city pass then Tram ride will be included in that, you don't need to buy another ticket for this.
3. Unique Experience of Robotic Bar :
So, there is no staff to serve you the drinks. You need to do order and payment and Robot will make and serve a drink for you. Doesn’t it sounds interesting?
This bar was near Charles Bridge.
4. Enjoy the city in Night :
This city looks so different in the night. There were so many night bars. A night out in Prague is one of Europe's great bucket list experiences. The area around Charles Bridge, old town square develops a buzzing atmosphere once night falls. The eastern bank of Vltava river, which is busy 7 days a week, is home to Prague's best-known nightlife hotspots. There is also Walking Night Tour - Ghost Stories and Legends of Prague's Old Town (sounds interesting ?)
5. Shopping :
Are you a shopping lover??? wait if yes, definitely this place is for you. If you are from any other European country, you will find this place a little cheap. So, it won't make a hole in your pocket. Go... for a shopping dude
Important things to know about Prague :
1. Cash for Toilets :
This was really very very challenging for us. We came from Sweden, where you will find nearly everywhere toilets free but here in Prague, you need to pay for toilets... and not only this, they will not accept any card, they just need czk cash. So, very important tip for you to keep czk while travelling to Prague. Even in the restaurants like Mcdonalds, Burger Point or anywhere else toilets are not free. Actually in short... we didn't find any where free toilet.
2. Don't Take Cash From ATM:
Also, if you are trying to take cash from ATM, it will make a hole in your pocket. Like we were trying to take 150 SEK and it was costing us nearly 300 SEK (including conversion charges) that means you are paying almost double.
3. Home of the largest castle in the world:
Do you know that Prague Castle is the largest in the world? The 130 metre wide medieval castle and its 70,000 square metres of land attract almost 2 million visitors every year and have landed it a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. This is a Czech attraction you can’t miss out on during a trip to Prague.
4. Charles Bridge is actually haunted by ghosts :
what???? yes you heard it right.
People claim that they have seen them wandering up and down Charles Bridge. I walked on the bridge in night as well... but somehow didn't get opportunity to meet anyone of them :D
5. Narrowest Street :
The narrowest street in Prague is about 50 cm wide (super tiny), yet because it's so narrow it has its own traffic light. The traffic light prevents pedestrians from meeting in the middle and then wondering how to walk past each other.
