Day 1

The white sand upon which the waves break silently on the shore will fill your heart with the peace you had longed for when you booked the tickets for the trip. A flight from Kolkata would cost you around 4-5k (round trip) to Port Blair during off seasons. Forget cellular connectivity as soon as you land there( cause you will hardly receive network signals on your phones) and indulge in nature and beaches.

Port-Blair is a quaint little city which offers you beaches like Corbyn's Cove and Wandoor. It is a small city and any corner of it is accessible within an hour. The cellular jail opens up from 9AM-5PM for jail tour and visits. The jail also puts up a light and sound show every evening which depicts the heart-wrenching stories of our freedom struggle. (Cost- 80-150 INR as per timing).

Day 2

LEAVING FOR HAVELOCK

There are private as well as government ferries leaving from Port Blair every couple of hours from 7 AM -5 PM, you can book the private ones online as well in advance:- https://www.go2andaman.com/

Cost One way- Around 1.5k INR in private and 800 INR in government(approx).

After reaching Havelock the first thing we did is went to the nearest beach side for a stroll. You can easily find bike renting facilities by locals over there( 500 per day) .

Properties to stay - Dolphin resorts Havelock , Havelock Farms

The scenic as well as aesthetic cafes such as full moon cafe are a must go to sit and enjoy the ambiance along with a beach view. The Venom bar is also a nice place to chill out and enjoy some music with good food. The cafes in Havelock and also hotels can set you up with a romantic beach-side dinner date for you and your partner.

Day 3

BEACH HOPPING IN HAVELOCK.

Havelock islands location and beaches overview :-

The Havelock island has mainly two roads, one leads you straight to Radhanagar and the other leads you to Kalapathar beach. The Radhangar beach is the most visited, well- maintained and happening beach in the Havelock islands.

If you are planning to visit Elephant beach, make sure it isn't a rainy day and you ain't wearing a pretty white dress! As you have to trek down hill within the forest around 1.5 km and return the same way . I could only go half way as white dress and mud don't go well together and they didn't anyway.

Kalapathar beach is my personal favorite, I visited it 3 times within a stay of 3 days. All the pictures you had imagined to be on your insta feed, this place provides you the exact background for it. Serene backdrop lined up with fallen trees on the white sand and pristine blue water.

Day 4

Scuba diving and water sports.

There are plenty of water sports options available in Govind nagar beach. I had always wanted to try scuba diving and as it was off season so we got a good bargain on it(1500 per person). The world you get to see underneath makes you wonder how much nature has to offer.

Day 5

Return to Port Blair and back to Kolkata

You can extend your travel to Neil islands for which you will have to book the ferry in advance.

On the last day of your stay in Havelock, a visit to the beach to soak the morning sun is non-negotiable. For the return journey we opted for the govt ferry named Coral Queen cause it is gigantic and also allows you to go to the top deck and feel the sea-wind in your hair. They also have food and music on the ship, what else does one need?

On reaching Port Blair, with the hope to visit this wonderful island again soon, we boarded our return flights to Kolkata.
