One adventure can lead to several unexpected but AWESOME experiences and this trip was one such!!!! EPIC!!!
The place never decides the taste of the food served!! DAAAMNNN this small mess known as Arun mess served us thee best food for bottom low prices!! FOOD that gave goosebumps!!
A beautiful town of tea plantations surrounded by evergreen forests!! So theres no chance for one to miss the greenery !!:P We did some pretty good spotting wild animals such as elephants, boars, lion-tailed macaques, giant squirrels and also the elusive hornbills. This town is completely surrounded by the forests so if lucky one can spot several other wild animals like the deers and the nilgari tahr!!
One hella gateway to a thick shola forest between sholyar dam and valparai with a 8km ride into the forest(closed to PUBLIC),only mode of transportation is by the government bus or one can hire or drive their own car. A place completely isolated from the human civilization except for few employees who work at the power station living with their families in government provided facilities. THINGS TO DO: 1)GET Forest department's permission for a stay. 2)GET all the food provisions for cooking(a cook-caretaker stays in the cottage) 3)GET several candles, torches and batteries as the cottage is only powered by the solar!! 4)IF going for a trek wear dark clothes and never apply perfumes or deos!! To avoid LEECHES apply lime juice or nasal snuff onto your feet...
A gem of a place in Anamalai hills!! A small walk on its main road will lead right to a tribal village known as Erumaparai, we were asked not to venture into the village(reasons unknown!!) Have to respect their culture too!! :)
