Pilani is a place situated in Rajasthan and is specially known for one of the best engineering college in India BITS Pilani, the college has a huge campus and is an architectural spectacle in itself :)
The college campus has enough spots to have a great time. But one of the best spot in the college is the " Saraswati Temple" which is also lightning white and looks epic :)
Ways to reach Pilani :
1. You can drive directly to pilani from your car as the roads are quite good.
2. The best and the most viable option is train to loharu and then a shared cab/jeep which will leave you directly to the gate of BITS Pilani. Loharu is around 30 odd kms from PILANI and you can also opt for the local bus instead of cab.
What to eat :
1. There is a market inside the campus with the name cannaught market and there are almost every option of food.
2. There are also good dhabas just outside the railway station at loharu.
I started from Delhi at 6.00 AM via cab and reached the sarai rohilla railway station and boarded my train to loharu at 7.00 AM. The journey in the train was a normal one and I reached Loharu in a breeze at 11.00 AM.
Took the shared Cab for 150 Rs and reached the BITS PILANI campus by 12.00. I had an interactive session with students at 3.00 PM which got completed by 5.00 and then i went to enjoy the saraswati temple just after that.
Saraswati temple at BITS Pilani campus is made of White marble and is adorned with images of gods, philosophers and scientists. Birla Saraswati temple is build by Birla family in twentieth century and is the main attraction of this town.
I spend about an hour and it was one of the most peaceful evenings i have ever witnessed.
Took some photographs as well.
Whenever you are in PILANI and specially the the BITS campus don't miss this place. A must visit :)
