My girlfriend and I travelled to Philippines in January 2020. I’d like to share some photos and impressions.
We were lucky with the weather, there was almost no rain and also not too hot – the ideal for snorkeling - https://world-weather.info/forecast/philippines/cebu/january-2020/
We arrived in Cebu in the evening 3 of January, the flight was from Seoul. After spending one night at the hotel not far from the airport, next morning we moved to Moalboal. It took us about 4 hours by taxi. Moalboal is excellent for diving and snorkeling! There is a very beautiful reef, many different corals and fish, there are many turtles and some underwater snakes (luckily not aggressive for swimmers). We stayed at the hotel for four nights and had amazing snorkeling every day.
Then we moved to Oslob, about 2 hours by taxi. It is place where you can easily swim with whale sharks, that is very exciting experience. For swimming with sharks you need to buy a tour. Though there are quite many people, this is really cool. In Oslob we spent two nights.
Next point Bohol Island. We took a boat to get there from Oslob, about 1,5 hours. We had a nice hotel there, with white sand beach and nice green territory. There was no reef like in Moalboal and the bottom was sandy. So there were no turtles and corals. However, it was perfect for beach relax. Also we spent 1 days going to excursion. The driver picked us in the morning and we visited several sights during the day. It was small zoo with butterflies, bamboo bridge, forest, but the most famous were Chocolate Hills and Tarsier sanctuary.
That was a great trip! Definitely we will come back to Philippines for new adventures!
