One night I was browsing for some offbeat location near Bangalore for weekend trip and landed on Kavayyi beach house website. The very moment looking at the pictures on the site I decided this is the place I am travelling next.So finally the day was locked new year weekend of 2016. I contacted the beach house owner Mr. Ranjith to book room for 1 day . It was Rs 2000 per person including all meals.

Day 1

We had booked bus tickets in night coach from Bangalore to Payyanur .The bus started from Bangalore around 9.30 PM and reached Payannur Bus stand at 5.30 AM.

It was a chilly morning , we had cofffe at the bus stand and then took an auto ride to Al-Ameen Park Jetty. Mr. Ranjith had informed to reach this jetty from where we would be taken to the island in his boat.

It was little dark when we reached the jetty and oh my god bless my eyes . I had never experienced such a beautiful place in my life .I was awe stuck for a while . It was calm morning ,1 or 2 fishermen were fishing in the backwater in their boats, birds were chirping. As if the nature is playing some song. It was perfect like the location in movies .

In the mean time I had called the Resort owner and he wanted us to wait for some more time till sunrise as his boat could be ridden in day only. Finally our boat arrived and here came our host Mr .Ranjith aged somewhere between 45-50 with smile on the face and welcomed us . To tell about Kavvayi Island ,its a group of small islands, near Payannur in Kannur District in northern Kerela. Whats so special about this island . The island is surrounded by Kavavyi Backwaters(largest in Northen Kerela) on one side and Valiyaparamba beach on the Side and here comes the property in the center of this island . The beach is totally a secluded beach or we can say private beach for the guests

After reaching the property we were amazed by the beauty of the place . The resort was amidst coconut groves , a lots of them . We were around 10 members . Mr Ranjith has alocated the full house for us which consisted of 3-4 bedrooms , neat and clean washrooms and a kitchen . The Veranda with wooded column supporting roof had table and chairs made of Bamboo .

The property is being looked over by the owner Mr Ranjith , his Sister and one staff all of them are very hospitable and friendly.

While we waited for the tea to arrive we started with a short volleyball match .

This place have all sorts of arrangement to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable . They had mats which could be used to lay on the sea beach . So we picked some of them and went toward the beach. It was a amazing experience which is difficult to be put in words. So peaceful and serene.

Then around 1.30 PM ,it was lunch time . on the plates we had authentic Kerala meals . The star of the lunch was the freshwater fish fry. I have missed the pictures of lunch hours . The owner Mr. Ranjith stood by us and made sure that everyone was comfortable and enjoying the meal.

Post lunch it was time to explore the back water . It was just 10 meteres infornt of the resort .We relaxed for while outside the resort , then we went on a boat ride in the backwater . Even we spent some time taking some nice shots . Even we saw some house boats passing by carrying tourist in the backwater.

The owner and staff are very courteous and did their best to make our stay comfortable. We wanted to prepare barbecue chicken and the owner gracefully agreed to get us chicken from the town. Even the staff helped us in the preparing the chicken and even made arrangements for bonfire on the beach

Post dinner we had a nice chat with Ranjith. He was narrating some interesting things about the island and the district .

The next morning it was time to say good bye . We packed our bags and had some tea . We were feeling as if we should never leave the place . One of the staff took us to the jetty ,from where an auto was waiting for us to be taken to bus stand . While going to the jetty, the staff took us on short ride to show us some places in the backwater and even halted at places for some pictures.

This is one of the few places which would be on top of my list if I had to visit time and again.
