This not so popular village is what all of us need right now, Ghandiyal and its charming attributes.
Nestled in the Garhwali region, this quaint village has just the bare necessities with the raw beauty all along and so much to explore. With hardly a few numbers of shops offering tuck, basic daily need foods and some new shops offering the new age junk – Momo’s and Chowmein: p (isn’t that raw)
Drive up the hill from kotdwara to Satpuli for about 2.5 hours and the majestic village view of the Uttarakhand beauty begins from there. You will cross numerous villages on your way, it’s just so scenic that will always require your attention for some nature photography.
In about 1.5 hours of uphill drive you ll cross a small village called BANEK and another 15mins to that you will reach your destination - Ghandiyal village.
How to reach ?
There are not much options , however you can either book a personal cab or a local taxi from Kotdwara itself (it will charge around 200 bucks and its a routine ride for the drivers from there) , you can also avail the option for bus but due to the current scenario you would want to avoid.
Day 1- The Volleyball Ground
Just as natural it gets , the routes are quite tempting and scenic and if you have a nerve for nature walk It will take you to these charming nooks of the village.
Day 2 - The Unknown - Path next to the temple
When in the main market , you will come across the temple which has a secret path leading to this beautiful way downwards.
Day 3- Pauri
Pauri is a district , which is about an hour drive from ghandiyal is again a must visit , if the local shops and markets attracts you , moreover the landscape view should be the main reason, the drive is picturesque.
Day 4 - Wander with local food shops ( Creative bakers)
One of the finest crop (ragi ) is hugely consumed in the Garhwal region. and this bakery makes the finest cookies, breads and sweet bread rolls of these locally cultivated crops, providing the healthy benefits and so fresh.
You will have to wander around to explore them fine places.
